+Danny Kari +Pickle Rick You guys are correct, however it was basically impossible for me to calculate kill/blast radii for free launch shots to quantify the differences compared to manual explosions. I should've mentioned it in the video, my mistake.

You forgot showing that while holding the trigger, if someone is in proximity of the grenade it will show a little skull and the number of enemies close to it. Pretty useful in hallways when you are behind cover.

6:06 36.43 m/s = 81.42 mph. A military grade grenade launcher 500 years in the future has a lower muzzle velocity than the average high school varsity baseball pitcher's fastball. (I know, it's a balancing mechanic in a game, but it's still kinda funny)

to be fair, that grenade still has to chuck an military grade explosive with EMP technology as well as a radio link to the launcher that has both a dumb fire and smart fire mechanism. It's a fair bit heavier than a baseball

I was joking about the entire premise in the first place, I've just always found the disparity between plausible sci-fi world building tech advances and stuff that makes for good in-game balance and mechanics kinda funny. Like you said, the UNSC has some amazing advanced technology... but also still use a pump-action shotgun for combat operations against 9 foot genocidal aliens with energy shields. A mag-fed full auto combat shotgun would completely break the game balance, but in-universe it's like... 600 year old tech? haha

HOORAY !! Aozolai is back. Still loving the intro clip, super solid. Thanks for the vid on the launchers. I've been using them lots more lately than I have in the past, mostly due to me trying to get my commendation for it. I had no idea the regular req3 launcher actually did more damage than the propipe. I've found for myself that with all the aids that the propipe is actually easier to use.

Did you know that when you enter emp by holding down the trigger and then smart link there is a small display where you can see if the explosion will kill anyone?

I had all the weapon commendations but then they added the Brute rifle, Grenade launcher, Gravity hammer (not sure why it wasn't a commendation earlier), and the Sentinel beam. Annoying but hey, I hardly used those reqs so hey guess I have a use for them now. Anyways, once again Aozolai you uploaded a brilliant analyze video for Halo 5 weapons. Keep them coming ^^

Not sure if it's true, but whenever I use the grenade launcher without using the emp effect I'm able to get kills a lot easier. In other words, without the emp wouldn't the grenade launcher do more damage and possibly have a bigger radius?

I do the same too, I only use EMP shot when fighting vehicles. Whenever I encounter spartans, specially in large numbers, I always shoot regular grenades. Its good to know the Pro Pipe has a Tracking function for its EMP shot tho, I didnt know that

Been playing Halo 5 for quite a long time (rank 130), only just found out you can hold trigger on grenade launchers to delay grenade lol.

This is kind of a weird thing to notice, but I think that Halo 5's weapon sandbox would work better if it was in an RPS game similar to Mass Effect or Bioshock. The way the different guns and vehicles are just straight upgrades from the base models never quite sat right with me, considering the series started with the whole "everyone starts the same in every match" matchmaking that was prevalent in the series into Halo Reach. It feels like one of the biggest and most drastic changes of the 343 Halos. And this is just me being picky, but damn man, a whole lot of the paint on the special weapons looks out of place, even for Halo 5. So I don't hate the guns by any means; I think they're really cool. They just seem like they're from a Halo RPG spinoff

Yeah the sandbox is quite a mess now. Even in Arena, although they at least nerfed the rifles so they aren't a flat upgrade over the pistol anymore. But all these REQ weapons that are straight upgrades don't really work well as a cohesive sandbox and the REQ energy required to get some of them is a joke of a balance mechanism. (For example why the fuck is the Whiplash a level 4 if it's literally one of the top 5 weapons in the entire game). All this shit is s quite obviously just there to sell more REQ packs.

Awesome video, but I have one nagging question. If there are two targets inside of the ricochet diamond, which one will the grenade ricochet to? Is distance from launch the key factor, or is it something else? Once again, great video🙂🙂👍👍

You forgot to analyze the different damage outputs of a emp grenade (holding trigger) and a normal grenade (firing trigger) on both launchers. From my experience I do believe that not using its emp effect allows for higher damage
