Isn't Menkaure the son of Khafre and grandson of Khufu, not the other way around? Thanks for the review video :)

Agree with Donald and in the same boat during these crazy times- new content is tough! Great information! Any presentations you are willing to share with other educators? Completely understand if you do not.

I have everything on my course website: videos, lectures, even blank note sets for students. So long as you don't sell the content or claim it as your own you're free to use it! sites.google.com/view/ocsaaparthistory/home?authuser=0

Hi I love your videos! They are super helpful. Just one thing: the order of the pyramids is reversed. Its Khufu, Khafre, then Menkaure.

Hey! I just want to ask something that I am confused about. There is explained less artworks in College Board but it is more in SmartHistory. Which one should I take as a reference to prepare for the exam?
@FleetsAPArtHistory2 жыл бұрын
This video is only part 1 of a 2 part series. Also, you should always refer to the Course and Exam Description to figure out what is fair game for the exam: the 250 AP artworks are listed on that document.

I heartily disagree with the notion that the almost equal heights of the pharaoh and what must certainly be his queen (around 26:10) - indicate a nearly equal status. that is plain nonsense. while it is true that in the bas-reliefs and paintings they certainly do indicate hierarchy by making some figures of great importance tower over the lesser individuals, but in this case it is simply ridiculous to suggest that. this is a sculpture that is clearly of a Pharaoh and his queen. he is somewhat taller than her, that is all

It may be his mother thus equal, or equivalent in hierarchy of status.

In Egyptian royalty, the Queen was more important than the Pharaoh in significant respects, because inheritance was matrilineal.

I had to pause and check my dates about the pyramid construction! That is backwards. Biggest to smallest, which is part of the mystery of the pyramids.. why would they continue to decrease in size and complexity of design? Budget? Or less and less knowledge of the process. One would imagine that last pyramid to be the best.
