Mr. Johnston, thank you so much for making these videos! I watched all of them. They were a life saver in helping me self study for the AP exam and thanks to you I got a 5! Great video series :)

Thank you so much. You have cleared many doubts and misunderstandings that were current since 9th grade. I am looking forward to get that 5 on the AP BIO EXAM.

i think its kinda cool that 10% of people who took AP bio between 2015-2020 have watched this video

Thanks for this! I’m going into AP Bio and forgot my packet at home today. This helped me for chap two lol

Hi! I really liked your explanation and it really helped me along with studying from my textbook. So thanks a lot. I was wondering , I have started self-studying for my AP Bio (I don't take AP classes) and I am now in the third unit of the Campbell book, but when do you think I should start the test prep. Like read the Cliffs book and practice test questions and take full tests?
@ScienceWithJohnston8 жыл бұрын
Start reading through the review book content as you go, and take the practice tests after you have gotten through all the required content would be my suggestion. Then just go back and spot fix issues you have after taking the practice tests.

17:57 Isn't this a London dispersion force because it's temporary transfer of electrons to one side of the molecule? Also, you said they occur for everyone, but doesn't it only occur for covalent bonds?

Sir, very beneficial.

Um... So i might be getting too personal here, but I was wondering if you can answer one question. I am looking to study internationally (London, Paris, etc...) and the only requirement I am missing is the AP Bio or Chem exam. I wasn't aware of this until just recently, and I only have until May 1st to study. Should I actually go for it, or is it a lost cause? Motivation is not the issue, but time certainly is. P.S I took the New York Living Environment Regents and scored pretty good on it. I don't take any AP classes at the moment though.

I wouldn't say it is impossible, but it is improbable. If you have lots of time each day, the drive to cover several chapter each day, and the organization to take notes or read along with a review guide (I recommend Cliff's) you could get through everything. But it would require an adept mind to manage all that and be able to still remember all the material at that pace.

Hi, thanks for the video but this may be random. I'm currently taking AP Bio from taking CP Bio last year and haven't taken a chem class before (im a junior) and haven't looked over chem since middle school. Will AP Bio be difficult for me to understand with low prior knowledge to chem basics? I'm already beginning to take notes and review it on my own, but I'm wondering if I will struggle to keep up.

at 12:30 you state that all molecules are covalently bonded? This is incorrect, is it not?
@aliciasheridan14776 жыл бұрын
of course, not all molecules are covalently bonded, only the one shown in the video, which is the strongest bond, is a covalent bond; defined as carbon and hydrogen bonds that share the same, usually 2, valense electron.

That's just my amazing editing skills where I ramble on for a minute before realizing there are no more slides and my rambling was pointless. Then I stop the video where I stopped being relevant, which made it kind of abrupt.

What Ap Bio book is this based off ?

Campbell Biology, 8th edition specifically.

The content in each chapter is pretty much the same, just verify the chapter topic before watching. They tend to move some chapters around to make it seem a little different. So chapter 52 might be 54 in your book kind of thing.
