Hypothetically, if I said that NO2's lone electron made it a 120 degree angle but still explained how the bond angles would be different, do you think I would be fine?

I think you'd be fine.

It is 120. A mistake must have been made.

I accidentally called the molecular geometry of the left lewis structure trigonal planar with 120 degree angles but still identified the geometry would be different because of the different number of electron domains. Do you still think id get the point?

If I didnt put the electrons bonding between N and O and just put the 2 lines, will I still get point?

I mean, it still is correct, so it should work. The one that was given had lines there instead of dots, so you should be fine.

I don’t know how I managed to think this while taking the test, but I added a valence electron when drawing my Lewis structure. Do you think I will get credit for the proceeding question on bond angles if it’s consistent with my Lewis structure, even though my drawing is wrong?

Im so mad i was doing so good . Over half on all the questions but on the e cell one i forgot you don’t multiply by 4 when subtracting 💔and ive never made that mistake before

Can you label the Lewis diagram bonds with lines like they do? That’s always how I draw my Lewis diagrams and my teacher always says it’s fine :(

Yea that’s fine lol either way counts
@BigMac44595 ай бұрын
@@kalissahsu8 I think the lines indicating bonds should be there. That's definitely preferential as you go into higher chemistries and I think it appears more clear and organized. Though this pure dot form is a helpful way to learn to calculate these sometimes tricky Lewis diagrams.

@@BigMac4459 oh ok thx!

Either one should be fine. I usually put the lines in myself, but PowerPoint was acting funny yesterday.
