Wow. If the teachers don't already implicitly know these topics then should they really be teaching an AP class?

Typically they would already know these topics - although they might be more familiar with another language such as Python like I was was when I first started teaching AP CS A. That said, if you've never worked in a public school, sometimes you get assigned a course and have to level up real quickly. The purpose of this series is to more introduce the topics for the course, suggest an order to teach them, and give a few tips here and there. A little helping hand for new Ap CS A teachers.
