AP CS A Teacher Training - Strings

In this video, I talk about how we can use Strings, introduce the idea of collections, the five AP required String methods, and a short introductory activity with the students.

Wow. If the teachers don't already implicitly know these topics then should they really be teaching an AP class?

Typically they would already know these topics - although they might be more familiar with another language such as Python like I was was when I first started teaching AP CS A. That said, if you've never worked in a public school, sometimes you get assigned a course and have to level up real quickly. The purpose of this series is to more introduce the topics for the course, suggest an order to teach them, and give a few tips here and there. A little helping hand for new Ap CS A teachers.
