Thanks for sharing this video because I now know that I will upgrade my brake setup this year! The factory setup isn’t the best for just changing pads, especially in the front. Plus, I plan to track mine this year! Thanks again 👍🏽💯

I have the same CP9660 calipers. Have a question, how do you clean and maintain the caliper pistons given they don't have any dust boots?
@WillsGarageOfficial3 жыл бұрын
I wipe the brake dust off the pistons with a rag before pushing them back in. It's not perfect but I figure by the time there's an issue with this, the caliper will need to be rebuilt anyway.

@@slowinfastout3304 Yeah! I asked Essex and they said brake cleaner is fine. Love your track videos btw.

Ferodo DS2500 for street and DS1.11 for track. I posted separate videos about these pads. Check it out if you're interested.

@@WillsGarageOfficialDid you use the same rotors when swapping from street to your track pads?
@jcelliott73779 ай бұрын
@@vaaro_mya that’s what doesn’t make sense to me, the pads are mated to the rotors so this is basically a pad slap. I understand why you don’t want race pads on the street (noise, dust) but swapping brakes every time you track it doesn’t make sense unless you change rotors every time too
@vaaro_m9 ай бұрын
@@jcelliott7377 they do. The pads you use for the track must be on the same rotors. Cant mix pads on the same rotor. Have to be a dedicated pair set

Any issues with these pads seizing onto the disks if they’re left wet after cleaning and the car is not used for a few days? I’ve heard that the AP callipers don’t retract far enough and this causes them to stick to the disk.
