Oh ja, ich liebe auch das Solo von Bill Evans in "Flamenco Sketches", was ja auf seiner Komposition "Pease, Peace" beruht. Apropos Trompeter...Marcella you must hear this haunting version of "Time after time" by Chet Baker!!! Live in Belgium TV, 1964. Fantastic, the best version ever: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH6xlX9_hrpjqKs . Much better than on Chet Baker sings" (1956). Stammt aus einer DVD der Serie "Jazz Icons. Die Quintessence von Chet Baker als Trompeter und Sänger.

Both very enjoyable. In my opinion none is better than the other - they are just different.

I have had both (UHQR and MFSL 2x45 rpm), and also the 33 Classic Records. I have sold them all after buying an "Hot Stamper" from Better-records (US dealer). No need to say : it is a vintage US 70's Columbia Red Label !!! To my ears, MoFi’s records have an uncanny way of grabbing my attention and making an appealing first impression, only to reveal themselves upon relatively little further listening as sorely lacking in naturalness and musicality. The longer I play them the less I like them and the more annoying they get. My impressions? From the very first note on this MoFi I could hear the bass was boosted, and overall the record sounded bloated, fuzzy and tonally wrong. Adderley’s sax sounded shrill and edgy and Coltrane’s squawky and oddly distant. Paul Chamber’s bass was boomy and flaccid and Cobb’s drums and Evan’s piano both lacked solidity and impact. The best thing on the record is Miles’s trumpet, although the best thing I can say about that is that it’s less shrill than the other horns. There’s a lack of cohesiveness and the musicians don’t seem to be playing together, but rather sound like their parts have been cut and pasted into the soundstage. In my opinion, the best sound for this album is found on standard Columbia Red Label pressings from the ’70s. Mastering quality varies so much from version to version, and with a record like KOB with a ton of versions out there, if we want a great sounding copy we should be looking for a version that is well mastered and then not worry about how many copies were pressed from that stamper. If it’s mastered well and from a good tape then we’re likely to find a copy with those stampers that will be pressed well and sound wonderful. The 70’s reissues of KOB are mastered well generally so finding a great sounding copy is just a matter of playing them UNTIL you find the right one !

Die Uhr kenne ich nicht, jedoch habe ich das Gefühl das trompete und Saxophon zu sehr im Vordergrund sind, der Rest verkommt zum Rhythmus, also Klavier und Schlagzeug, sorry, bin verwirrt
