I only tolerate 4x2 chassis in ETS2, & ATS!
@babymetalenjoyer5 ай бұрын
there's now also a 4x4 available if you download the Volvo FMX mod.
@o_Ol8 ай бұрын
The best in ETS2 is 6x2/4 midlift. When it's lifted, it turns into 4x2 actually. When it not lifted, it turns as powerful as 6x4 but with extra 2 steering wheels. This means that 6x2/4 actually wins 2 sets of 18 scores that is 36 scores.
@Peterseli3 Жыл бұрын
I think you missed the biggest advantage of 4x2 trucks in the video. Which is only true for ETS2. Since there is more room for fuel. The fuel capacity is also higher.
@RingoSkulkin Жыл бұрын
Absolutely true. DAF 2021 with 4X2 has a huge Fuel tank. Couple it with DAF 2021's insane efficiency and you have a truck that can literally haul 3k kms on a single fuel load.
@Nemofishman Жыл бұрын
Xf105 also gets a massive tank as well with the extra tank option. Scania S does well though with the 6x4 and 8x4 being 264 gallons.
@LucYGaming_4 ай бұрын
Ik the video is old, but the DAF XD in the 6x2 with rear stearable axel is great in load, turning and fuel efficiency, also i think the medium cab looks great, sadly it has a small tank with just 600 lts, which its weird cause the shorter truck, the 6x2/4 has 850 while having smaller tanks 🫠 My best trip in that truck was an average of almost 3.9 km/L, wich is insane for a truck carrying almost 40 tons 😬
@timsonxx4 ай бұрын
@@RingoSkulkinwith that think on 30l/100km you could almost do 5k. So with a little optimization thats no problem to reach

A small thing to note: 4x2 in ETS2 tend to have vastly greater fuel capacity with just few exceptions - I think in case of one of the DAF trucks you have to take elongated version of 4x2 for a massive fuel tank. On most other suspension types, fuel is fairly limited - this is not the problem in American trucks, however due to generally longer wheelbases allowing them to carry bigger tanks. The exception here would be the "long" variants of these suspensions on Scania trucks, these retain 1000litre tanks - while on most other trucks, you see tanks of 400-800. Another thing - 6x2 - taglift does not reduce truck's agility that much, unless rear wheel is lowered - it is basically like 4x2 in that regard. One thing regarding immersion - the most common trucks in Europe are generally 4x2, with more 6x2 in UK. 6 wheel base also is a default in the US. I'm not counting the legal limitations for weight, which game does not reflect.

The real issue in regards to ets 2 is to know that you should look up fuel tank sizes on 6x2/6x4 chassis BEFORE you choose a truck. As on a lot of brands the tank is more or less cut in half or even worse (with some having extra tank options at 4x2). for example. man tgx ~850 stock at 4x2 with an upgrade tank option to 1160 or so. On all 6xX variants it´s down to 400, without an additional tank option. On 8x4 it gets back up to 960. While volvo for example has a 800 litre fuel tank on the 6xX. And scania 700 or even 1000 with the newer versions on the long chassis. Now 400litre might sound a lot, surely does in car terms, but with a fuel consumption of somewhere around 35-40 litre (depending on road/load/stop n go thx to hated toll roads) you look for a range of ~400+ kilometres on a single fuel tank. And when you are someone like me that likes to take on long contracts that are like 3000+ kilometres... then yeah you have to stop quite often to refuel which is annoying. Also and probably thankfully so, there is no weight limitation in ets2 to loads in regards to truck chassis. In a lot of eu countries its sort of 4x2 = 18 tons, 6xX = 26 tons (MAN even addet that into their type numbering 18.480 = 4x2 with 480 hp). Yet in ets 2 you can haul 44 tons of carge on a 4x2 and the only issue you will face is that you may struggle to get up to speed up hill/on rough terrain, that the weight will pull you like nuts if you dare to brake as 4 wheels don´t have the stopping power and that the trailer wants to flip you over any time you dare to turn at highway speeds.

@AP_1015 ай бұрын
High speed cornering - the longest chassis, so 8x4 and 8x6 Better acceleration - chassis doesn't matter that much I think
@David_Crayford4 ай бұрын
Having more than one powered axle gives better traction for acceleration. So a 6x4 with half the engine power going to each of 2 powered axles. With a big engine, if all the power is put into a single axle, such as a 4x2, you could spin the tyres for lack of grip. Spreading the power over more axles improves your grip.

4x2 is best as I can drive one IRL with a car license as long as I don’t hook it on a trailer 👍

Pro tip: Next time you compare something, just leave out the total score, especially if all the scores sum up to the same number and just leave the rest of the data as a statistical data sheet for everybody to analyze and take away from what ever they want. The total score in this case is nothing but misleading as all systems are good at different things yet according to the total score every system is equal (to those that don't know how to read data and only ever look at totals) so on a flyby the totals become misleading. Not sure I got my point across so here an example: Bicycle: Convenience: 5, Speed: 1. Saturn V rocket: Convenience: 1, Speed: 5. Bicycle total: 6 Saturn V rocket total: 6. The vehicles are equal, according to the score. So it doesn't matter which one I get. However, in reality they do completely different things and couldn't be compared with a final score at all. Leaving out a final score lets the viewer decide which one "scores the highest" according to the purpose and use. Thanks for your explanations! It was very helpful! I'll now go get the one with the highest score ;P

You want the axle down if you're really carrying extreme loads to provide more support and to even out the weight throughout the chassis. You want it up if you don't carry heavy loads and to improve fuel efficiency.
