What made this loss hurt the most, was the fact that my opponent hasn't lost an APA 8-ball match in 2+ yrs (over 30 matches). And the last 2 times we played, it went hill/hill (LOL). I've also NEVER beaten him (0-16 lifetime). But that's ok. I still enjoy playing him, think he's a really good guy, and well - his day will come..... soon (maybe..... hopefully..... I mean.... surely?). ha

Been watching your videos for the last few days now while working I really enjoy them. Barbox american pool isn't big in the UK here as we have UK blackball in its place which is a different game. But I play american pool as my main game which is heavily 9 and 10 ball over here. So it's nice to watch barbox matches which is something i want to play more in when I'm in the states for changes of pace and play in some barbox events!

My game is more safety than going for it mostly. I like to try to get ball in hand every game like a sickness, LOL These 2 have great speed control and can run out if everything is open, but SL7's in my area run rack after rack in north east division APA, even with tied up balls, or safety you to death. Long winters lead to a lot of pool playing.
@randymallett Жыл бұрын
Yeah we both had an off night. We're better than this. But yeah, different areas have better 7's. Some have weaker 7's. Where do you play? We're in a VERY rural part of SE Missouri.

Interesting how much different the same skill level varies in different parts of the country.

SL7 is the highest attainable in 8-ball. The skill difference among SL7's in general is massive.
@randymallett Жыл бұрын
Yeah, there's a HUGE difference between a good 7 in, say, Dallas, compared to a good 7 (even the best 7) in, say, Malden, Missouri (where I play). LMAO!
@randymallett Жыл бұрын
Incredibly massive. I wish APA 8b SL's would go to 8.

if these guys ever play on a diamond they are going to miss a lot more. Bar table pockets are much more forgiving and a lot of these pots would be misses. They are good players not saying they aren't but their pocketing is going to have to be more precise on other tables. Hopefully they practice on a table with tighter pockets if they ever plan to travel to bigger tournaments that use Diamond or Predator tables.

How do you feel about playing on Diamond tables? Would it affect your stroke?
@randymallett2 жыл бұрын
I absolutely love Diamond tables. I feel I play just as good, if not better on them. Could be bc of how "true" Diamonds play, could be the confidence I have when playing on them, could be the shimmed pockets on my table at home (allowing me to transition from Valleys easier).... Could be completely wrong too, idk. 😂 I just know I'm more comfortable and confident when playing on/with good equipment. Thanks for the question! Cheers!

Well this 8 ball, but he's maxed out I'm both (7/9). He's one of the best players in the whole league actually (30+ straight 8ball match wins), so this was his extremely rare off night. And still beat me. 😂 Thanks for commenting Barbara!

dam bro that sucks. you had alot of opportunities to win.. rack 3 you have to be more aggressive on that break out. and i think rack 4 or 5 you followed a ball and ran into the 8. im pretty sure 8 went in the side? and hill hill you have to get out 100% … couldn’t you jus use a low left drag shot to hold the ball and then come around for the 8 rather then try to go back and forth when im sure nerves were high? ugh i wanted you to win. im also a sl7 in nj.. try to really focus more and come up with easier outs.. i also know how it is playing someone that has your number.. def harder to win.

Always like barbox pool matches. Tho' something about a toddler running circles in a pool hall that just don't jell lol. Nice game tho'...unlike the boring games like the pro's where neither player ever misses lol. Break run break run break run. I applaud the skill but boring to watch. Nice to see regular players battling it out on barboxes.
