In this video, I review the APA King Cobra compound bow. I shot the bow through a chronograph at 70 pounds, 30 inch draw, with 350 grain arrows, 450 grain arrows, and 550 grain arrows. I then dropped the weight to 65 lbs and shot the compound bow through the chronograph with a 325 grain arrow, a 425 grain, and 525 grain arrow. I also collected decibel meter readings and vibration meter readings. To get on my list for compound bow giveaways as well as other things like tree stand giveaways, be sure to subscribe to this youtube channel as well as my newsletter on my website www.seansoutdo... God bless you.

Another great informative bow review! There was a time 10-15 years when i got a bow and liked it and didn't even consider a new bow for years and during that time when bow technology (for some bow manufactures, not all) kind of came to a stand still. Some companies would just change one or 2 things and say it was a "new bow". I hadn't heard of APA bows until you discussed them and now after seeing a couple reviews on them, well I will definitely check them out at the show. I was thinking about how people get "stuck" on a certain "brand" and stick with it and not look at anything else that might be better and it reminded me of growing up in a "Chevy" family and we only bought Chevys until one day my wife comes home with a FORD. What? Well, i drove that Ranger for 10 years without any issues and well, now I own a F150 and love it. Sorry, got off track there, lol. Great review!!!!!!

I hear you on that. I grew up a "Hoyt" guy. Then in 2012, before I even started doing reviews, I decided to shoot every bow I could and get the one I liked best. I ended up with my first BowTech, lol. I then transitioned over to Xpedtion (easiest bow I have ever tuned to get bullet holes kzbin.info/www/bejne/r57YfJidjLV9a6s I'm curious to see which bow I like best at the end of this review season. Also, I think we will all go over as a group and shoot some of the bows at the show. Looking forward to meeting up with you and the gang. God bless ya brother.

I am very new in the archery world. I subbed your channel because I found the very simple shooting tips super helpful. I am learning more and more about the sport and hunting aspects of it. I am learning so much about different types and brands of bows. I appreciate all the great information, Sean! This channel is awesome. I think it's also refreshing to see a believer's channel, too. I really enjoy not having to worry about any cursing or non-family friendly stuff with this channel. Keep it coming, and God bless, brother.

I can only imagine, I am still a novice, so when I got a good deal on a Martin bow a few years ago I was super excited. However, I don't know much about upgrading the sites, whisker biscuit, stabilizer, or tuning so pretty good is enough for me right now. Thanks for putting in work in case someone is ready to upgrade! God Bless!

Sean, Do you know if they have the little 28 inch Mamba Air with the limb based draw stops and titanium hardware in that shop for you to test run as well? The string stops now, I have to creep tune them all for me, which is fine but hoping to see what the limb stops would do as I'm bombing these APA down a couple hundred yards with heavy broadheads for practice and think the limb stops might help the APA out even more on high low POI with the true dual cam system. Keep up the great footage brother and God Bless!

They didn't have them on hand at that shop I don't think. It is a new shop, maybe 6 months old. I'll see what they have at the Great American Outdoor show and see what I can shoot there. Only a week from today. Yeah, that soft back wall isn't going to be helpful for accuracy at long distances as you can accidentally vary how hard you are holding on the back wall which in turn can translate to vertical misses down range at long distances.

Do you think the soft touch material will slow the transfer of coldness to the hand? I find that my bow can cool my hand even through gloves while carrying it into the woods.

I have a 90lb King Cobra. While fast, your vid suggest not really close to 370 IBO particularly since you are testing at IBO standards.
@seansoutdoors

Yeah, I don't know where they are getting the 370 from because this bow isn't going to shoot 370 feet per second as it is.

Sean how does that little pin help you field press the bow? Thanks Gary
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 7 жыл бұрын
You step on the handle and pull on the string about 10 inches away from the bow, and then the pin slides through one of the holes in the cam (there are a series of about 7 holes) and then you ease down on the string and the pin goes against the limb and can't go any farther and the strings and cables go limp. Sorry I forgot to demonstrate that. God bless you.

I got a bow for Christmas. It is a used bow and has limb stops. But when we adjust the limb stop to try and make the draw length longer I hit the back wall before the limb stop ever even hits the limb. If you know how to fix this I would appreciate if you told me or if I am doing something wrong. Thanks
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 7 жыл бұрын
Depending on the bow, you may need different modulus to change the draw length. You usually don't change draw length by moving limb stops. Moving limb stops do alter draw length a small amount, but it is more for changing let off. look into what kind of bow it is and what is required to change draw length.

How well are these bows tuned in from the factory? I apologize if you said and I missed it. I have a 14 month old daughter I’m trying to keep up with while watching your reviews. Lol
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 7 жыл бұрын
I don't know how well the come from the factory. The guy at Brush Mountain goes over the bows really well before putting them up for sale so I think he fine tuned them all. However, the APA bows are so awesome for working on. You don't even need a bow press and can do it all right there yourself. I wish I had one to do some tutorials on, but I don't, and it isn't in my budget to buy one. Even still, they are pretty nice bows.

@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 7 жыл бұрын
I've never felt the BowTech velvet finish but I have heard it is the same basic thing by the guy who ran this shop, only he said that BowTech had problems getting their finish to stay on the bow. I can't verify this because I have not experience with it.
