Anywhere and everywhere, don't restrict yourself to a set pattern or style, be creative, films, tv, documentaries, lectures, public information videos.... Anywhere, sometimes you just need to play alsorts of samples over beats and see what fits, it won't always sound like a good sample without the beat for example search ''gomez machismo'' I'd heard the song loads when it was out and about 2 years later I was watching david blaine and this dude walking away says ''he's into that, that spiritual stuff. Serious man, I seen a movie on it'' and I was like wow, that's that sample.

You may like L'Orange, he often samples film noir in his music. Look up "L'orange - Alone," one of his many great tracks.

sorry .. not to be blunt.. all music doesn't need to be eq'd and mastered to spec... unless ur making bog standard forms of genre specific music, like mainstream dnb.. drums can be as quiet and as unprocessed as u like.. it's called real music. simple.

next u'll be telling tom waits his piano recordings weren't clean enough on closing time, or that tricky needs to use more dynamic Eq on the drums on pre millenium tension, it's nonsense and they are both masterpieces... (the fact they aren't processed to industry standard has something to do with it too_. it's called art.
