The plane carrying the body of Diana, Princess of Wales, on Sunday (31/08) took off from a military airport outside Paris bound for London.
Accompanied by her former husband Prince Charles, the body of Britain's Diana, Princess of Wales, was earlier taken from Paris' Pitie-Salpetriere hospital in a hearse to begin its journey back to England. Britain's Prince Charles was greeted by French President Jacques Chirac when he arrived at the hospital on Sunday to reclaim the
body of Diana. The prince had flown to Villacoublay military airfield outside Paris from Aberdeen, accompanied by Diana's two sisters, Lady Jane and Lady Sarah.

Agreed. There was something special and unique about Diana that cannot be replaced. Princess Kate is beautiful and charming and does a great job of being Princess of Wales. But she doesn't have that certain something that Diana had.

The sadness of Diana's untimely passing still hurts. She was so loving and caring, and deserved so much to be loved. My God, it's been 25 years and I still feel heartbroken The looks on the British peoples faces, even in France, the weeping and shock was so profound that week. Diana's death left a humongous hole in the world's heart. I cried all night watching her funeral with my mother and best friend on the phone in NY. The world adored her...we will miss her forever. There'll never be another beautiful soul like Princess Diana. She was a role model for generations with dignity and grace. I'm sure she knows now how loved she truly was. ❤

The assumption that the world loved Diana is laughable. She may have been a member of the Royal family but at the end she was nothing more than an attention seeking "celebrity". And people with real lives don't bow and scrape to this nonsense. Yes it was sad she died, but only in so much as she was young and should have had many more years ahead of her. She died in a car crash, caused by a drunk driver. She wasn't wearing a seat belt, which might havd saved her.

@@dan11438 : You are missing the point. While she was alive, people across the entire world, none of who had ever met her, still felt a connection to her, and an understanding of her. Her untimely death was a tragedy that was felt by the entire world. I’m guessing you are far too young to understand- were you even born when she married Prince Charles? Diana’s well-earned place in people’s hearts was something you had to have had experienced in real time to truly understand. And the shock and sadness in his eyes you can't fake. Many reporters say his first reaction was "Their going to blame me for this." But I definitely don't see his reaction as being like that. There is alot of grief etched in his face. I do believe he fell apart and said eventually that this will be enormous.

@JPT How do you know? Look at how Meghan is being treated for being a person if color and charismatic like Diana. She was in love with a brown man who was Muslim, she was considering changing religion, she definitely was moving to the US as she had a lot of friends there. She had already picked out the house in Malibu. She knew things, where the skeletons are buried, and she was as popular as ever. People were still talking about her. No, I’m not accusing the Queen and the RF, but those hateful palace courtiers, the men in grey suits, etc. I believe they would do anything to protect what they wanted unknown. .

@Toia Townes I saw an interview with Brigadier Charles Richie who also attended Diana's body at the French hospital room where she was laid in a bed, and I was horrified when he explained that, as hot and stuffy the room was, it was necessary to place heavy blankets over the windows in order to prevent the photographers who'd gathered on adjacent rooftops from getting a shot of her body through their telescopic lenses ... Bloody disgraceful vultures! He then found it necessary to procure fans for the room, and he had tears glistening on his cheeks as he described the lifelike effect of the fans blowing on her hair and eyelashes, like she really was just going to wake up any moment. It was very moving the way he spoke about it.

Oh Amy! What a terrible way to remember your wedding day. I'm so sorry, But I also miss her. She's was an amazing person so genuine and caring. Nothing phony about her. That's why we miss her so much. Watching this was as if it had just happened now. I had never seen this before. The pain suddenly all came back. I'm 76 now and I remember staying up all night to watch her wedding. And then when she died, it broke all our hearts as if it had just happened to one of our family. We still miss her. I will not watch Charles' coronation. I can't bear to see that WOMAN taking her place next to him. She did nothing to deserve that throne.

Ya know i don't care for Charles either but if they would have just let him marry his true love, Diana wouldn't have had to go through that. He always loved the other woman not Diana. So i try hard not to blame Charles any more. My parents also refused to let me date my first love and it almost ruined my life so i kinda feel sorry for him. @@mabear9238 with respect you're the one who is wrong in stating something as if you know it to be fact. She reportedly had some disagreements with Jane Fellowes, as her husband worked as Private Secretary to the Queen, so there were conflicts of interest. But not to an estrangement degree at the time of her death according to Diana’s closest friends and nanny. Unless you want to believe Paul Burrell, Diana’s butler who has sold multiple lies for profit over the years. Truth is no-one knows. But i'd prefer believe Diana's closest friends and nanny than him. And she was always very close to her middle sister Sarah - other than usual sisterly issues. No-one has ever said otherwise. And again, how would any of us know? It’s unfair and sad you feel the need to conjecture and to question their grief. At the time of her death, everyone does seem to acknowledge the two people Diana hadnt spoken to most recently were her mother and brother. Even Charles Spencer agreed. No other views, yours or mine, matter. And yes of course i (and others) noticed how genuinely sad Charles seemed in that clip. Both then and at RAF Northolt and when walking the boys through the flowers at Buckingham Palace and Kensington. My Commenting on how sad the sisters looked doesnt take away from that. Who the hell are you to judge people's level of compassion for one person, based on comments about another? And talk like you knew all the circumstances? And try to imply that the man who met her, cheated on her and divorced her was more upset than her own flesh and blood who grew up with her? Yes he was upset - it was obvious, he was sad, regretful and devastated for his boys too. But don’t you dare sit there as a KZbin keyboard warrior and claim that someone’s sisters were somehow shedding crocodile tears when you have zero idea what they were feeling. Just show empathy to all involved, like other commenters are - for goodness sake.

I don’t think anyone will forget where they were, when they heard of Princess Diana‘s tragic death, and I was on vacation, about to go to bed, and we just happened to turn on the TV, but we could hardly believe what we were hearing, and at this point, they hadn’t announced her death, and we stayed in front of the TV, and finally heard the tragic announcement. I was in shock, and I was praying that there was some mistake that this could not be happening, nor should it have happened. Princess Diana was not common folk and would’ve been in a car that would likely be bulletproof and can withstand accidents, at a different level than cars made for the rest of humanity, and I know that is also from having worked in the car industry, so I don’t even understand how that car could’ve been that mangled, to such an extent! I think it is an absolute disgrace that the crown did not protect her, after the queen allegedly ordered, The divorce, but then you look at somebody with the Al-Fayed‘s power, and you’re gonna tell me, they were so slipshod about transporting, two of the worlds wealthiest and most famous people through Paris tunnel? At the time, I was in my 20s and bought the bullshit narrative, but you always knew there was something a little off about this, and I do believe that she was led to her death and murdered by the crown. I hope one day, we will all know the truth, but I have no love for those Royals, and they made a grievous error, in doing what they did to Diana while she was alive and even after her tragic death, because the only redeeming member of that family was her, and they led her to her death. Even former presidents, of the United States, are protected, their whole lives’ through, but not Princess Diana. The world was in such grief at that time, and I will never forget how grief stricken I was for such a long time, and how I got up to watch the funeral, in total grief, and I collected many tributes, on Princess Diana because she really impacted my life. Seeing this 25 years later, rips through me just like the day I heard she died. She had a tragic life and a very unfair tragic ending; however, Princess Diana, herself, had predicted that she believed Prince Charles was trying to have her murdered, in a car crash, and was eerily specific and precise, and she wrote a letter to her former butler, I believe, and I’ve seen the letter, with my own eyes, and he was interviewed about it, but she also had some very telling things to say in interviews that have now been scrubbed from the Internet, and they resonate today, more than ever. But they really think the secret wouldn’t come out about them and who they really were? Diana was not the danger that they thought she was, and what she said, at the time, did not resonate the way it would today, but the truth always has a way of coming out, so I’m sure, at some point, we will know who is responsible for taking our princess, from us! Princess Diana‘s tragic death is analogous, with the death of JFK, and nobody believes that JFK was assassinated, anymore, as we know he was murdered! We love you Princess Diana, as you will always be our princess and queen, the queen of our hearts.💜🎁🙏✝️👑💜.

To be fair, Diana's death was sudden. She was only 36-years-old. No one expected her to die and her funeral was not planned. The Queen's funeral had been planned for years, and she was 96-years-old. It was expected.

February 2024 Hello from Germany Personally, I think you only realize what you've lost when it's too late. Princess Diana was a compassionate, unique and very attractive and warm-hearted woman as well as a loving mother to her two sons. May she rest in peace and we all thank God that she existed, Love, Ann 💕

Actually it was the media feeding her that nonsense. She was becoming paranoid and made poor choices that got her killed in a car accident by a drunk driver. She was the one sleeping around first so not everything is Charles fault. His fault is that he allowed his grandmother and mother to coerce him into marrying her. She was a naïve girl with the maturity level of a fourteen year old at the time she met and married Charles.

@@Penny-nd9ze Charles was sleeping with Camilla all through the marriage. Diana turned to other men when she realised that Charles had just used her as a brood mare for his heirs. Camilla even wore white to Diana's wedding! She was indeed as bad as Charles and they emotionally tortured an innocent and very intelligent and gifted 19 yr old girl
