Divorce is not granted lightly in Islam, everywhere. But in cases of domestic abuse, abandonment, zina of one of them, or any valid grounds, divorce will not be denied whether it is a man or a woman demanding it. Her divorce is just sensationalized because she is a royalty. If the man wants another wife, and it will cause dissonance, it is not advisable. And instead of resorting to hurting each other, divorce is not favorable in Islam, but it is permissible. I came from a country that divorce is not legal to Christians or non-Muslims, but the Muslim minority are entitled to it under Muslim code. I've seen a lot of people stuck into an unhappy marriage because the the constitution does not support divorce and legal separation(annulment) is expensive. So no, it is not easy for Muslim women or any women even divorce is available, because many woman are not as strong-willed as the princess, not as capacitated. Many non-Muslim woman I know would not even get annulled and would drag their religion and kids as the reason not to, even tho they are mistreated already.
