ONLY ON AP: Mozambican port retaken with Rwanda's help

(9 Aug 2021) Rwanda has helped Mozambique to retake a strategic port that had been held by Islamic extremist rebels for the past year.
A joint force of Mozambican and Rwandan troops have regained control of Mocímboa da Praia in northern Mozambique, the two countries' defence ministries announced.
The retaking of the town is a notable success for the 1,000-strong Rwandan force that was deployed to Mozambique last month.
Since arriving in Mozambique in July, Rwanda's troops have rapidly helped Mozambique's armed forces achieve victories against the insurgents, who had until now made the north-eastern part of Cabo Delgado province all but uninhabitable.
Joint operations between Mozambican and Rwandan forces - whose deployment is reportedly being financed by France - have forced the rebels to retreat "from the zones where they have exerted relative influence," a senior Mozambican military officer said.
The joint force had taken control of public and private buildings in Mocímboa da Praia, including local government offices, the port, the airport, the hospital, markets, and restaurants, the officer said.

You don't need democracy. You need science, weapons and military training for all young men and women. After all that, you can sing your democracy. When White Europeans confiscated most of land in SADEC contries, they did not use democracy. And DEMOCRACY has not been able to return the land to Blacks.

@@1nesoch well said, today many Africans only sing democracy, democracy, do some even understand the true meaning of it and how it should be applied. Winston churchill, the British War hero and former prime minister said of democracy this------Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all that have been tried. Our felkiw Africans never talk about science(only superstition and a warped and distorted type of Christianity where pastors think for them, tell them what to do/, what not to do etc etc) they never talk about being inventors/innovators, wealth creation and jobs(they harp on constantly about natural resources) everything you wrote is brilliant and full of commonsense.democracy did not make Europe rich, it was industrialisation. They manufactured goods to sell,that is the reason China is very very wealthy today. Look at south Korea, it started becoming prosperous by industrialising first.
