I read this and it was a lovely, sweet script and I thought that it would take somebody with really European sensibilities who understood language and culture who would make it not kind of an American version of a European film but something that really was as elegant as it should be and as meticulously done and he taught us a lot about that and through the process helped us to be better and I think that it is fascinating that he has gone to such a different genre and his art and his talent. There are many similarities in the quality in the production of the films he has made but they are very different and I think that this quite extraordinary.

"Definitely it was a challenge in playing someone who might be construed as hyper-normal but I too at the same time as Angelina trying to get in touch with my female side. I think I have done it, it was traumatizing but I got there."

So why not both?"

STORYLINE
JOLIE AND DEPP BRING "THE TOURIST" TO SPAIN
Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp were in Madrid, Spain on Thursday (16 DEC 2010) to attend a press conference for their latest movie "The Tourist."
They were joined by the film's director, Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck and producer Graham King for a brief photo call, at the Villamagna hotel.
Angelina, who is travelling with her six children and husband Brad Pit, told the press that the family would enjoy playing the tourist themselves.
"We are looking forward to going to the museums there are extraordinary museums and collections of art here and also to Gaudi we want to visit Barcelona as well," Jolie said. "So Madrid and Barcelona mainly for art and great food."
Johnny Depp who has many friends in Spain said that he was looking forward to visiting the Pablo Picasso master piece,
"Guernica" which is on display at the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid.
"When you can walk into a building and plant yourself in front of the Guernica for any length of time than in itself is like entering a different city," Depp said.
