I love that as the years progress in this video you can see so clearly Angelina's transformation and growth. In her earlier, darker years, you see a insecure, unhappy, and lost person that is concealed, and the last clip you see this radiant, gorgeous, happy, and confident mother that has found her place in the world and the true meaning of life. I can definitely see the transformation throughout the years by these interviews. If anything, her adopting Max helped her mature and live purposefully(?). I think she mentioned she was lost and was kind of searching for that love. And knowing her family history, it's not hard to see why she yearns to find the love and the father figure all at once.
