Northern Alliance troops and tanks reinforce frontline

Afghanistan's Northern Alliance continued its push towards the capital Kabul on Monday.
200-300 well-armed Northern Alliance soldiers and 10 tanks advanced south from Jabul-as-Saraj to reinforce their frontlines near Taliban positions 25 kilometres north of Kabul.
The move adds to the increasing pressure on Taliban forces, which have lost significant territory in the north of the country following a three-day offensive by the Northern Alliance.
The Taliban army, which has been subjected to five weeks of U-S air raids, is now severely weakened, according to Northern Alliance commanders.
A spokesman for ousted Afghan President Burhanuddin Rabbani said on Monday the Northern Alliance would complete its
encirclement of Kabul by the end of this week.
He said Alliance forces would begin to advance on the city itself next week.
The Alliance has made a series of dramatic advances since capturing the strategic northern town of Mazar-e-Sharif on Friday.

Meanwhile in Kabul over 4 million people surrendered without a single shot fired... If even just 1 out of every 100 had some backbone you would be looking at a militia 400,000 strong... Yet not even a single shot fired... Just gave up... The majority of Tajik, Uzbek and Hazara seemed to have lost their will to fight... They would rather run and hide and let others dictate their lives...

During the Soviet Occupation the Northern Alliance or NA have only 5,000 Fighting men under Ahmed Shah Masoud the Lion of Panjshir now they have 7,000 to 9,000 fighting men composed of Ethnic Tajiks in the Panjshir Valley

Some of these T54/55 Tanks and T62 Tanks and the Light Amored Amphibious Vehicle the BMP-1 are used by the Nothern Alliance or NA other Russian Made Military Equipment are Captured by the NA when the Soviets withdraw there Military forces out of Afghanistan and let Afghan soldier do the fighting in the Panjshir Valley instead of fighting the NA they take side with the NA because numbers of these Afghan soldier are Ethnic Tajiks and end up in the NA hands

Even daw the Nothern Alliance or NA does not have the modern military equipment and hardware than the Taliban side got all the Modern Military Equipment and Hardware they have captured from the US when they withdraw there Military forces in Afghanistan . But some of these US modern military equipment and hadware end up in the NA hands because when the Taliban try to enter and captured the Panjshir valley from the NA
