There is a means to auto-generate a translation of this video with using the CC _closed-caption_ option. First, click on the _CC_ to activate the "closed-caption," then click onto the _sprocket icon_ and click onto the "subtitles," which may lead you to a selection of languages to translate the closed-caption. I use the word *may* in that some CC and subtitle menus *may not* provide the option of _CC auto-translate._ Good luck!

@@michaelmccartney8506 I'm commenting here with what I earlier wrote to Nigel on another newsreel video, as his name is in this comment thread: I feel badly that the English subtitles aren't showing up for you, but I do appreciate the feedback. The only thing that comes to mind is with the operating system (OS) "browser" being used. KZbin can be temperamental with the type of browser used to view the videos. Although YT is a part of Google, which also created the Chrome OS, which is what I use for viewing YT with my desktop PC, there have been times when I've had to switch to the Firefox OS to get full functionality out of YT. _And I'm adding this:_ The OS of the device you are using to view YT videos may not be the same as what I'm using; which may explain the different results. My result of English subtitles came about using a Windows 10 PC with Chrome browser. If you are using an Apple or some other device that uses a different OS and browser, the functionality could differ with viewing YT.

You do understand in a dictatorship you don’t have an option to ‘know it’s over’ and talk about it openly. You keep your thoughts to yourself or your family pays. Although I believe in private the Nazis did do ‘listening in’ reports of conversations and these were reported back as a ‘mood of the nation’ report (non person specific - much like a survey but in secret) to the elites. So they had an idea of the general public’s mood. And yes most but the fanatics knew.

Most of Western Europe was "repaired " by late 50'. Eastern Europe however was beyond that. Many were still lacking a lot by the 80'.
