@natalia6788 is your problem from overseas buyers purchasing second homes? I live in Cornwall, England and a lot of our housing problems are rich people from London buying second homes for holidays.
@natalia67885 ай бұрын
It's similar, the problem is basically that you need 20% + mortgage costs to buy and most people don't have it because they pay rent, which is higher than what a mortgage would be so they're in a neverending loop. So investors and construction companies with money buy most properties to rent them, normally for tourists as they make a lot more profit. This is a huge problem especially in the islands as there are no places for the locals to rent and they have nowhere to go. Speculating with essential goods such as homes should be forbidden.

Tbh people diss the transport but the Overground is basically as good as the tube - it's just a little less frequent so you may need to plan your journey a bit more, but it is also way more comfortable (with AC, less noisy, roomier so you basically always get on in rush hour). I live in a very affluent area of London and the prices are insane. I recently bought my first home - a one bed flat - and the prices up north, you get about 4x more for your money. Rent is even more ridiculous in the sense that a lot of mortgages would be less than the rent, even with the base rates still being so high! I wouldn't dream of leaving London though, I love it too much

The red rug and period features of the East London flat swung it for me. But, I'm glad I live up North and paying a quarter of the rent!

This video has shocked me, you can get a 6 bed beach house by the sea in Scotland for that, its a disgrace

Or a mortgage on a 4 bed house with a large garden in a rural area in Angus with stunning views for 2k a month.

Housing market sounds crazy in London. Honestly I wouldn't mind seeking out apartments with you. Shown viewers some great amenities in my opinion.

I would think about moving near London at those prices... I live in Stevenage, and for the money you thinking paying, you can get a 3 bed house in here .. best of luck!

As a person living in Zürich, Switzerland, I actually didn't know there was a place as expensive to live in as Zürich. Crazy

Just outside of London is cheaper and nicer! I'm halfway between London and Brighton so 30 mins to London Bridge and 30 mins to the coast, am also walking distance to the countryside. You can get a nice 2 bed house for £1600 a month where I am with a proper garden!!

Traveled a few times to London staying at West London but i always liked going to East as it is more alive and mix of modern and history.
