For anyone that sees this, I just want you guys to know that it is possible for you to have a balcony and have grass patches on the balcony. They do sell that. So even if a complex does not provide grass or a dog area, you can purchase a grass patch and place it on your balcony for your dog to use the restroom. Grass patches are very cheap and I used to replace mine every two weeks when I lived on a top floor.

yayyy you're gonna love san diego! i personally never want to leave. the weather is beautiful, every neighborhood has a different vibe, the traffic is nowhere as bad as la, and you can easily find good food

The first apartment you toured on the second day was my first San Diego apartment! My roommate and I had a different layout so there was a shared bathroom rather than two personal bathrooms. Overall it was a great apartment, but I'm in a house now for cheaper and am loving it. Sometimes I miss the pool though I can't lie :') But anyhoo, welcome to San Diego! You're going to have so much fun here :)

I lived in the village in 2020-2021 was paying $1945 for a 1bed. My car and bf’s car both got stolen there. We unfortunately left the front door unlocked and someone in the middle of the night while we were sleeping snuck in and took out car keys and my purse. No security at all there. The gate really is a front cause anyone can walk in and most of the time people drive behind really close to the residents and get in that way. So good thing u crossed it off ur list. Not worth anymore than what i paid then. Im sure now the same one is in the $2500

Girliepop, i know mission valley seems nice but its GHETTOOOO 😭 all the stores in the area are filled with homeless and people on drugs and theres always carjackings, human trafficking and all sorts of sketchy stuff going on there 😅

Welcome to SD! It’s very fun here. Some things to keep in mind - Mission/Fashion Valley floods every rainy season. The area is great as far as amenities and options but it was not engineered to account for the riverbed it’s built into. La Jolla is beautiful but oftentimes overcast and crowded. The roads and parking are terrible the closer you are to the beach. Downtown has its fun neighborhoods but it’s not nearly as active with clubs and lounge bars or as safe as it used to be 15 ish years ago. East County has some really nice towns but more suburban. And hotter in the summer. Kensington, Talmadge, Mission Hills, South Park…fun, central areas that are mixed single family and apartments with a lot of walkability. Make sure to check out Coronado - their beach is the best in the biz and they’ve got a lot of shops and eateries to checkout. Hope you’ve it here!

You just saved me so much time haha I was looking at all the apartments you were in mission valley, I liked the second apartment on the first day, it literally looks even better in person. ALSO, I understand completely when you mentioned you would have to settle basically because I moved to SD a year and a half ago & it’s almost impossible to find the “perfect” apartment “ it’s hard when one apartment has these great things but the con sucks, vise versa. I also have a dog too so it’s just impossible. It’s honestly so hard to find an apartment here.

mission valley is going to be the best for community/parks and sq footage also safety. I lived in west park and I loved it! If you move downtown bc because it gets sketchy so quickly. Little Italy is where i live now and its the BEST. Just super pricey. You are going to love it here.
