Apartment Hunting in Seoul | Rent prices, deposits, empty apartment tour(s)

The currency conversion for the deposit in USD should say $24,250 USD not $24,250,000! My apologies! I’m so used to talking money in Korean won I didn’t even notice I’d added on the extra zeros for the deposits! The rent price is correct though but please take off three zeros for the deposit figures! Deposits are still high for renting here in Korea ranging from $5,000-60,000 but not in the millions thankfully!

these recent videos just make me so sad. I look at the date and can't help but to think "in just one month their whole lives are going to change." It's absolutely devastating when you hear them plan for the future, the way they do, not knowing that the future has other plans. that's life I guess, we're all just on the ride, but of all people she really didn't deserve that. I hope she's in a better place now. Rest easy, Sara. Best of luck to you, Hyun. You're going to fulfill Sara's wishes for you and live a happy life.

Even with the corrected deposit amount... That deposit is insane! Usually in Scotland the deposit is equivalent to a months rent, and the maximum they can ask is the equivalent of 2 months rent. You don't get it back until after you've moved out, so even then getting another deposit can be challenging.

It's nice seeing that in South Korea apartments are expensive even when they are outdated and not very clean. It was such a shock to me in the states that even expensive apartments that were "nice" had so many downsides. But I'm glad you guys found a good one before your trip to Australia, which Im so excited to see the vlogs for ♥️

@@hojusara Yes! It was different in many ways. Me and my sister needed a place with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and that accepted pets, it was quite hard. But we didn't have the time limit. I must have called a hundred places and went to visit about 20 apartments until we found the one. But we are very happy with it and we will move next week =D

Wow, slim pickings lol. Really high deposits over there with a lower monthly rent, I don't think I could/would ever want to put down almost a year's earnings on an apartment that's fairly small haha. I'm glad you guys found something you liked though, your old place should have given you guys more time then 2 weeks though, that's pretty awful

좋은 아파트 찾아서 축하합니다!🙋 지금 카나다 에서는 월세 monthly 아파트들은 두배로 비싸졌어요. 제가 사는데는 인구가 500,000. 조금하고 깨끗한 2bedroom 아파트들은 $2,000 정도 합니다. 조금한 집들은 $1,000,000 정도로 코로나바이러스때 많이 올라갔습니다. 카나다 에서는 전세가 없습니다. 잰어래선 맬래니아 Generation Millennia 사람들은 두리서 일을 해도 집사기 힘들것 갔습니다. 미국에서도 비슷하다고 합니다.

I believe they get their deposit back before moving to another. The key money is usually something the landlords can use for investment while their renters are renting and then have to return it to them when they move out.

Did I read that right that you have to put down a deposit in the millions of US dollars????? To me, that seems so crazy. The monthly rent is decent though.
