what was the price for what you got? i don't think you mentioned which was a lot different than the other few for what you got so am curious. i'm looking soon, could you give the general area (ie. north york, etobicoke) for that one since it's really good with sunlight and spacious and everything else is like a box usually lol.
@JenniferTsaro3 ай бұрын
The unit I got was a little above my budget, and in terms of sunlight I find that south facing units usually get more sunlight :)

Kevictini As of right now you can only find ten controlled apartment in TCHC housing. Everything is will go up.
@kevictini3 ай бұрын
@@D4SH19TCHC provides subsidized housing. I’m talking about rent control. Condos / houses built before 2018 can only increase rent by 2.5%. New condos built in the last couple of years have no restrictions on rent increase once a 1 year lease is over. Rent can go up by 1,000 if landlord chooses so
@D4SH193 ай бұрын
@@kevictini TCHC provides subsided housing to those on assistance. If you are working and you make a decent amount of money you pay the full market rent , which is way cheaper than renting from private companies. For example.g the market rent for 2bd in Some TCHC is $1500. You can rarely find a condo/ house built before 2018 for $1500. Even with the 2.5% yearly increase they are expensive. So again the only rent control is in TCHC. In TCHC there is no yearly increase of 2.5%. It’s 30% of your income and then the flat rate for the unit. The only people not worrying about rent increase right now are those in TCHC buildings.

Ur budget is actually so reasonable. So many people say living in Toronto is expensive but I think it’s a matter of POV
@JenniferTsaro3 ай бұрын
Yeah, I think you just really need to know what your budget is, stick to it and try not to compromise on what you want.

@@JenniferTsaronot really that’s just the price even if you go more uptown Toronto. Honestly if anyone can live with Not having in unit washer dryer an older building is better because you get space and normal rectangular or square shaped bedrooms that can actually fit a bedroom set whether it’s a full, queen or king size bed. The new builds all have horrible layouts resulted in awkward spaces and/or small weird shapes in the bedrooms as we can see in all of them you showed, you can just comfortably fit a full/double bed that’s it! And majority don’t have an eating space like it doesn’t have to be a dining room but the buildings that are 10 or 15 years younger at least have the island for tall bar stools. Also a lot of these new builds have the bedroom door on the wall of what would is your living room wall for the tv or sofa.
