That price comparing to NY rent is much cheaper. The rent here in NY, you don't even get valet garbage disposal. People literally throw their trash everywhere.

Thanks for all the info man! I'm originally from Brooklyn but now live in Wichita KS. Planning on moving to Tampa next summer. Looking at places near MacDill since my wife has a job that can be transferred onto the base. Was lookin at homes, but in my experience with moving, it seems easier to get your foot in the door in a new place by moving into an apartment for the first 6-12 months, and then start looking at homes.

Mr White that is basically my plan, rent then buy. MacDill area is nice, you should take a trip down to checkout the area.

Man I PCS’d from England to MacDill, you’re going to LOVE it here. June, July, and August are hot, humid, and rainy but as long as you don’t work in the hot sun you’ll be fine. Central Air and sunscreen is your friend! Live in South Tampa, don’t go to Riverview or Brandon...the commute to MacDill from those places is brutal....unless you really like traffic and tolls.

SignalAmp thanks for the info man. That was what I was thinking. South Tampa so the commute to the base is under 30 min. I also saw a few places right over in Clearwater next to the bridge with a commute under 25 minutes, but I’m assuming that traffic is probably bad?

It's sad the prices of apts. 1600 is a mortgage payment. I'm a Senior looking for a place in Tampa St Pete or Melbourne. Right now I'm in Kissimmee Senior complex 2bdrm small...2 baths..2 small walking closets but it's in the middle of a tourist area. I want out. My search continues.

I paid $1200 in Jacksonville FLA in a similar type gated community, it had the pools gym, tennis courses the list goes it also included pet fees for my 2 cats.i had a 1 bedroom about 800+ft apartment. Never had any parking issues. All of Florida seems to name their price. I think people think it's cheap to live there is truly is not. However you are paying for the Florida tropical experience which you can't put a price tag on😊

Tampa can pretty much name their price. Beautiful place to live. I was contemplating at one point to look into relocating there as my dad lives in North Port which isnt too far away from there. I hope you and your family continue to love Florida. You got out of New York just in time🙄

Clermont has sink holes it is beautiful there but try Lakeland FL it's a small town but it is cheaper than clermont it's a hour from orlando about 40 min to Tampa it's in the center of both

@@EricEvolving you can buy 3 houses right now in navarre florida a ultimate place to reside at around 500 per month house payment and that is before corona ..you better check on your area broker and banker real soon...you are just throwing money away when you get over 1k a month ..90 percent of these youtubers would not ever consider 1400 rent...im in destin area and pay 1k rent for a seasonal house and that is high...and i can walk to the water in a few blocks

Eric you can buy a house for those prices in a decent area. Find a good realtor and start the hunt MAN! I got down here a month before you I believe 30 May 19’. Took me three months of pounding the pavement but i found one in the Plant High School district, paying a $100 more Than you for a house in S. Tampa

Eric Evolving I freaking love it man! I’m originally from Queens so I like to be in the mix, but I’m here bc I’m Military. I was here in stationed for 6 months in the winter of 07’, fell in love with Tampa and had been plotting to get back but the Military made me wait 12 yrs. I live in the part of Tampa that’s literally 7 mins to everything, Downtown, YBOR, Airport, whiskey Joes, SOHO, Riverwalk, Water Street, all 7-10 mins I can’t complain.
