@RussellTuan I'll have to give that a try, but the high frequency noise may make its way into the sound.

Amazing UPS ! Wish I could get my hands on one !

@Da9eI Hmmm, I haven't heard of air conditioners or incandescent lights doing it, but PC power supplies are bad for cutting the top off the AC waveform like this. Anything with a non power factor corrected switching power supply will do it.

Mmm nice! Did you try to see what the waveform looks like when it's with some load like 1kw ?

I tried once to hook an APC up to a -48 volt telco battery bank. I found that the UPS connects the negative to the earth of the UPS. Well it did on the Australian version, so it turned into a dead short. It's funny that the earth is connected to the neutral of the 120volt output. That is a no no here, the only earth neutral connection should be made in the switchboard.

great !! thanks a lot in advance. I had a small UPS and did try it with My home made Amp. It sounds better by hear on it. I did not know why and did not use Oscilloscope. I got a good one lately (Tektronix TDS 340A)but not good as yours. I learn a lot from your video,I will try it myself also. Russell Tuan

Airconditioners usually mess up the "wall" ac sinewave, older incandescent lights with bad capasitors\filters can allso cause a messed up sinewave.
@RussellTuan14 жыл бұрын
I think this is UPS is good for HIfi system, since it have such a good sine wave,and compare to wall AC.Could you try that for us?

where do you find all this cool stuff

How did it go with replacing those small lead-acid batteries with a more generic set of larger SLA deep-cycle batteries? Can the UPS handle larger batteries or will it think that the batteries are bad because they take longer to recharge. I.e. does it think that the batteries cannot take the charge due to the longer time they need or does it keep charging them and report normal status?

@filipkof I'll load it down fully and show how it works.

@filipkof I'll give that a try soon.

is there any way to make all the home power clean(sine wave)? can i do something to the circut breaker panel to clean the power there? im also interestted in seting up a home back up power supply augmented by solar power. an array of batteris would also be used based on some vids ive watched. thanks.

Hi Tesla, I need to ask something technical... For the transformer, for it to be able to directly convert high frequency switching from the H-bridge, to low frequency 50Hz or 60Hz sinewave, does it need to have a special design or something? Can I use the "usual" ferrite core or iron core transformer to do that?

Hi can you help me ... Problem with the apc smart-3000 charger after changing the new batteries and then charging it for 48 hours and after operation and disconnect the power button directly works but gives sound with no battery charge

what could the 208ac be used for? could it be converted to 120-240 vac? by changing transformers? I have so many questions . if you can talk let me know. I want to build a inverter. maybe by modifying a ups or a small inverter. I have some huge transformers and other good size ones. and a few other things. I have collected. I love videos like these. thanks!!!...,

208V is very common in North America and is normally used directly, it's phase to phase on standard 3 phase power, where you get 120V phase to neutral. You could use an autotransformer to convert it to 240, or pretty much any voltage you want.
