SAFETY WARNING. The Operation Manual states, "CAUTION: Before installing or replacing the batteries, remove jewelry such as wristwatches and rings.High short circuit current through conductive materials could cause severe burns". Probably want to be most safe and take off the wristwatch - - person in video did not.

Our UPS has a health warning "battery measured life near end" but our UPS is just 7months old. We bought this brand new in one of your authorized reseller here in Saudi Arabia and installed on Feb.23, 2020 only.

Just had FOUR two year old batteries go in an SRT8KRMXLT. All at once. No building power events detected. Brilliant. :(

before replacing batteries, should I change the Control to Go into Bypass ?

No you should not have to do that, it should be automatic, and I think if the batteries are actually bad (X) marked, they are technically pulled from service I think. I think they automatically change over in any case when pulled to swap them and the system detects they are removed.

@@linseywingard8498 I had the same issue but eventually I changed the installation date using the network UI and the error disappeared. Check the IP in the network configuration - the default credentials should be apc / apc

do i need to turn of the outlet groups 1 and 2 before reolacing it or make the ups in bypass before replacing the battery

Is it more safety if we turn OFF the Inverter first, when we replace 2 units battery??

You can do it through the menu system =>Status => Battery, but if these are new and when you insert them it will ask if they are new or not I think it sets the date replaced at that point if new.

I have one of these but it didn't have any batteries when i got it. Someone keeps telling me it needs a battery tray. Is this correct and what does it look like if so? Thanks in advance.

What do I do if I've replaced both cartridges, and reset the UPS but the error still shows?

Thanks for reaching out. Please ensure the batteries are fully charged and try the self test again. If the self test still fails, we would recommend trying another set of batteries. Our APC authorized batteries come with a 1 year warranty and can be replaced under that warranty if need be. If the self test still fails, it would unfortunately indicate an issue with the unit itself.

If the error persists after running the self diagnostics on the battery it is most likely the chassis is faulty.

Hi. I have apc srt8000 in work. Should I calibrate them after replacement? Just i replace 2 batttery packs in 1st slot.

i replaced with new batteries and still says connect battery. i did a reset by turning off the apc. unplug batteries and unplug apc from outlet for 1 minute. plugged in to socket turned on apc after a few seconds i plugged in both batteries and still says connect battery.

Excuse me. the battery in the ups has been replaced with the latest one, but the "near end of life" alarm still appears. I have tried to change the month and year the battery expires but after finishing the settings, the same alarm still appears. and the date I changed back to the previous date. what is the solution.?

How do i know which one is Cartrdige 1 and 2? I got an alarm on Cartridge 1 - I just replaced this a couple weeks ago and it is alerting again.

It looks like your battery needs to be replaced and the part number is APCRBC152. We recommend that your each out to technical support (www.apc.com/contact) and provide the UPS model number and serial number. They can make sure that is the correct part number along with the quantity of how many you need.

12v, no idea on the capacity. Probably 4 to 5 mAh.

Specs say 5.1Ah 192Vdc, other APC have 12 V, it seems this one not.
