Spike is the one from the first Ape Escape, this one is Jimmy (Hikaru in Japanese), though you can unlock Spike after finishing the game.

+北七良 Jump, pull out slingshot in the air, crawl, let go of slingshot, then press jump. Inputs: R1, move right stick, L3 (push in left stick), let go of right stick, R1. It's a little easier if you double jump first
