Thanks for your videos; they have really helped me look at alternatives for less expensive options. Just got my XP 2.0 and the stock handlebars seem kind of jerky. @StrillLife3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I feel like I have way more control of the bike as opposed to the Mickey Mouse folding stem. The trade-off is the bike isn't as foldable or compact in general. This isn't really an issue for me since I can't really transport the bike in the vehicles I own anyway. Having a wider grip makes you feel in command of the bike more. The original bars make the bike feel like a Razor scooter for kids. IT doesn't inspire confidence at all but to ride the bike on the flattest pavement. Also, it looks really corny in my opinion.

Of course on some levels because the dimensions and being able to do it by hand w/o tools is no longer an option. As far as storage and putting in a vehicle I'm not sure. I plan to do a video on the difference because I haven't tried to fold it yet since doing the mod. I really never fold the bike because it doesn't fit in my vehicles w/o a seriously exhausting fight w the bike. But I'll do a video as soon as the weather gets a little better here. It definitely looks more comfortable. Are you still able to fold down the handlebars and fit the bike in the back of an SUV?
@StrillLife4 жыл бұрын
I can loosen the 4 screws on the stem to fold the bars down but I don't have an SUV and I'm never trying to put that bike in the trunk of my car again. So folding the bike to stow in a vehicle really wasn't a consideration for this mod for me. I've resigned to the fact that this bike will only go as far as I can ride it and back. Unless I happen to pack it in friend's truck or I get a new vehicle. But the quick breakdown of the bike is definitely gone. I'll need at least an allen wrench to fold the bars down.

It looks like your stem has some play. If the stem isn't a 25.4MM stem like the factory stem, you need to buy a shim which is an adapter to make a 22mm tube fit into a 25.4mm tube perfectly leaving no gaps or play. I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do but I saw the other guy (brand new guy or whatever his name is) using the quill from the stock stem.....If there is any play at all in the stem, it's super unsafe because with each vibration from the road, the metal is slowly getting distorted and more loose every second which will cause all sorts of problems on the bike.

Hi Randy, I completely understand the frustration with the damage. It is the last thing we want is for customers to have to ride around with a dent on their brand-new bike. When shipping damage does occur, we do our best to correct any issues and work with the customer. I apologize if it came across like we were not going to solve the dent in the last email. With cosmetic damage, some customers prefer to just take the $50 or free accessory instead of waiting for replacement parts, and I wanted to give you that option in case you preferred that. I have ordered you that replacement fork, order #98563 and we will reimburse you for the bike shop repairs when you get it. If you could please send us the receipt of the repairs we will be able to refund you that amount up to $60. We thank you for your patience in waiting for this part, as it may take a couple of weeks as I said in my last email. We apologize for this negative experience with shipping and the damage. We thank you for being valued Lectric customers and we hope you really enjoy your bikes in these coming years. Wait so that's a message they sent you, Randy? I don't get why you are posting it here with no context. I don't quite get it.

I saw your mod that looks pretty awesome What happens if you do it a banana seat instead of that fluffy seat and possibly some foot pegs if you can stretch out your feet and Cruise

Lol. Someone else suggested a banana seat. Actually the same person suggested the ape hangers too. The banana seat was a little too far in my opinion but I'm sure it could be done if you really wanted to. I just didn't want to go that direction with it. I'm sure someone will try it though. As far as the foot pegs. Lol. In my opinion the battery does last long enough to ride around in throttle only mode too far so that would be more of a gag then practical.

You could have gotten some additional height on the BMX bars by using a steerer tube extension. Would have given you about 3" additional height for the BMX handlebars. Might have saved you the cost of the Ape Hanger Handlebars. Just depends on how high you were wanting to go to. Also there are two types of BMX stems. Front load and top load. Depends where the screws are. Top load will give you about 1 to 1-1/2" greater height on the handlebars. You have front load which means you lost that greater height that a top load stem would have given you. Front load stems are really meant for shorter people that want a lower handlebar.

Great info once again. So far for comfort I'm digging the ape hangers. Even when I put a suspension front fork on the bike which will raise the front end at least 4 to 6 inches I think I'm sticking with these bars. Makes my bike feel like a Hog. Lol.
