This is one of the best series of explanations and guides for Master students who have minimal knowledge about the industry like me. I’ve learned a lot from the video. Thank you so much for sharing such a great and useful content!

Thanks for your help. Can we have logbook entered from two firms (not simultaneously but one after the other) Also, can we use logbook to add the hrs from year or two before? We use project management app where we generally record our hrs of work..

I have a question that I have 8 years experience overseas and then I did Masters from Canberra. Do I have to pass the exam and keep log book and do extra 2 years experience?.

Thanks man, this is really helpful video. I am working in a building design / drafting firm in Melbourne, where I am mostly working autonomously on townhouses / multi-unit residential projects design and DA. Where should I log preparation of architectural drawings for town planning submission? In detailed design 5.3 or documentation (6.3 and 6.4)? Do you consider only construction documentation (working drawings) for 6.3 and 6.4? 2) Do you think I should log my overseas experience (where I was project lead) for 8.3 , 8.4 and 8.5 at executive level? But I don't have any experience in contract administration in Australia.

Following this - how did you go with logging your experience? I’m in a similar situation as you are. Wondering how your CA may have been logged & overall feedback. Cheers

Thanks very much for this. You are awesome. Just one question if you don't mind. So you are saying that it would be better to log hours for 3-4 projects only instead of 10 or more projects. But how do you get to 3300 hours with only 3-4 projects? I have been working on small projects like houses, townhouses, pubs for 5 years. I don't think that by choosing 3-4 projects I will be able to make it. Are you talking about 3-4 design (only) projects or 3-4 projects that you have done design and project management? Thanks
@architecture101_nsw4 жыл бұрын
Hi Hernan, the 3-4 projects is more of a guide. I'd say try and focus logging the majority of ours against a few projects where you committed alot of time, and use other less significant projects to fill up the remainder of the hours. I understand that for alts and adds on residential projects, 3-4 may not add up to the required 3300 so will have to be tailored to your own scenario. Happy to chat more if you need help. Shoot me an email

@@architecture101_nsw Understand, Thanks very much. You are a Legend. I am in no rush for the moment but probably next year I get onto it. Thanks

if your practice has been more on interior projects then is it a block ?
@architecture101_nsw4 жыл бұрын
hi malika, it think it depends on the nature of the experience. if its more client focused (e.g. briefing, program planning) & consultant based (e.g. coordination) it should be eligible as long as it was under the supervision of an Architect. However, best to check with the registration board
