These announcers are so great. I wish the 64 scene was larger. I feel like of all Smash games it has the least amount of douchebags and a lot of friendly players, Isai being one of the most friendly.

The announcers were terrible. Only thing about the video I didn't enjoy

Nintendude seems like a nice commentator when hes not swarmed with battlecows erection for Isai. There were so many points in this entire video where it wasnt commentating, but cheering for isai. Battlecow doesn't understand commentating but he was so excited to be there it seems.
@8-bitBishop7 жыл бұрын
Braleven Yeah Nintendude is great. I love how enthusiastic Battlecow is. But it's exhausting. Understandable though. I had a huge boner for Isai in this set.

i'm a calibur player and went to apex for that. i talked to kikoushi the morning before this was played. we barely understood what each other were saying and he told me he was the best player in japan and that he was going to win smash 64. i was rooting for him so hard that he would fulfill his statement. this dude was feelin himself and did work. mad respect.

Isai is my favorite Smasher of all time, hands down. He just enjoys playing and doesn't take the game too serious like M2K for example. It's funny how much Kikoushi was sweating (no hate), but Isai stayed relaxed all the time. Is there a reason he stayed Mario?
@trentblaser-welch708411 жыл бұрын
Isai does that at tournaments sometimes. He'll just say at the beginning, "I'm only going to play as (insert character name) for the entire tournament" and this time it happened to be Mario. It's really nice that he's actually honest enough to stick by what he says.
@CarniTato11 жыл бұрын
Trent Blaser-Welch it's even scarier that he actually is able to do that on such a level.

@Heyim18bro11 жыл бұрын
I figured he was doing that to respect the japanese player, because in japanese smash tournaments you have to play as the same character all the way through.

He plays well with every character, and he usually chooses one character and plays the entire tourney without changing. On last year's apex he played the entire tourney with Link.
@fkylw10 жыл бұрын
Great matches but the one commentator was way to combative to everything the other one said. Example: 'Some Isai chants' then he replies 'Shouts, not chants. I'm going to start a chant'. Or, 'I feel these players are on his level' 'no, they're not.' 'Well, I just fe-' 'No, they're not.' GREAT INPUT BUDDY! Really descriptive and engaging input.
@Kulepennstrek10 жыл бұрын
Yeah I know. Nintendude did a great job but, it's hard when you're getting shut down by a commentator. He shut Nintendude up and I really like his commentary so that kinda sucked.
@stevepisano626210 жыл бұрын
I think he was just excited. I kind of took the 'I'm going to start a chant' as him acknowledging that he came off wrong and wanted to bring it back to chants.

Hey battlecow here Definitely down to take all advice with regards to my commentary, and it was far from perfect. Isai is, to me and to many if not most 64 players, the reason I started to play competitively, and if I sung his praises too enthusiastically I'll reign it in next time. I hope that no one got the impression that I did not have tremendous and blinding admiration and respect for Kikoushi.

Sorry if it's late but yes that's how it works in Grand Finals. To be knocked out of the tournament you have to lose two sets. The person coming from Winner's Finals into Grand Finals has not lost a single set, and in order to be knocked out he must lose twice.
@Crusader838911 жыл бұрын
While it may be slow to watch, if you attempt to do any of the complicated techniques they display in this video, especially the ones with only 1-2 frame windows, it is extremely difficult. The way they chain several of these together while still being able to plan, react, and combo is nothing short of absolutely amazing. If you don't believe me, try to short hop up air z cancel with mario with any kind of success rate... and that's just one of the EASIER techniques isai displayed.

Isai plays every character, it's amazing how good he is with every one of them. Some people devote their time to one, but Isai gets bored playing one. His Pikachu is disgusting, but he chooses to use a random character than his Pikachu for fun.

As regards the issue of Isai's skill relative to Kikoushi--I am a great believer in the sanctity of tournaments for determining skill level. Isai is not. My understanding of the situation is that Isai determined how he measured up against Kikoushi in a large number of very serious non-tournament matches prior to WF's, and that with pikachu and fox (possibly kirby) he was at a decided advantage. If you want to say that these GF's make Kikoushi the "champ," I agree.
@WomboCombee11 жыл бұрын
The funny thing is that you might actually beat Isai in a friendly. Not because your better, but because he would sandbag the fuck out of the match to make you feel good.

i'm not talking tier lists here buddy, you are. isai's best character is pikachu plain and simple, while kikoushi's is kirby. if you go on isai's channel and watch isai's newest video it's him as pika vs kikoushi's kirby, where isai wins 3-0. just pointing out how isai is not all about winning and using his best characters (see brawl matches with MK's left and right). players like isai are about having fun, not winning. respect to him, that's all.

Dude, no one is taking this that seriously. That's what the crowd does to generate hype. Cheering happening at a competition? OH THE HUMANITY
@Crusader838911 жыл бұрын
That's one of the differences between him and you. He plays the game to enjoy it, regardless of whether he gets beaten or not. And of course, you would absolutely loose. You may not realize it, but playing the game at his level takes huge amounts of both skill and practice.

Poor guy won Apex but has to deal with the fact that he knows (as well as everyone else thanks to Nintendude spilling the beans) that Isai wasn't even trying to win it and was purposely playing an inferior matchup, just trying to make it fun and challenging for himself, and exciting for the crowd. What a fucking cool guy and superb troll.
@shiv60411 жыл бұрын

@Jeduthunn12 жыл бұрын
My heart was beating cuz of the excitement
@panamanian91112 жыл бұрын
He would have won for sure. I don't think Isai plays for that anymore. He probably just goes with characters he doesn't get to use often against amazing players to get a bit better and also to have more fun. This is by far the most entertaining match in Apex in my opinion.
@Lexter110411 жыл бұрын
He doesn't use his best character (pikachu) on tournaments. He only uses low tier characters like Mario, Link etc. If you want to see what'll happen if Isai DID use pikachu, go to his channel. He won 3-0 sweep with Kikoushi. That's how good Isai is.

Fantastic matches. Commentary was good, though the obvious bias towards Isai by one of them is somewhat unprofessional. But overall, very nice to hear commentators who are actually focused on the incredible Smash being played.

This is KoRo. 1. This matchup is Even 2. I watched Isai play Kikoushi with Pikachu. They stayed even with Kikoushi taking him down to 1-2 stocks every time. I understand random's riding Isai but you?
