Hal and Gen will most likely be fined by respawn for disrupting the tournament if the players are responsible for the vulnerability ("allowing" their machines to be compromised) and not respawn's servers/EAC.

That really doesn't eliminate any particular attack vector. Like RCE is the more serious vulnerability if its real, but its also probably more limited in when, who, and what it can do. Injecting a RAT makes plausible sense given what they wanted to do and when.

This was the IP of an inbound connection to the port 135 on his computer, which shouldn't even be possible when your router is configured correctly. This is only possible with the DMZ config or some port forwarding. This was just a random port scanner on the internet, nothing to do with this hack... Of course it looks suspicious at first because there is many exploits related with port 135. I saw an other video of Thor when he thinks he found something important with a clip of Asmongold where the editor added a random Antivirus Scan Results on to of some footage of one of the players that got hack. It was very obvious it was just some fake image floating on the screen and Thor still fell for it like a noob. That was very cringe to watch... I don't really blame him tho, during this kind of investigation you don't want to miss anything, it's "the fog of war" like he's saying and doing all this while streaming and talking to chat is not easy, it's not like when you're actually hired by a company to do some investigation.

Therefore, it is unlikely that he is hacking for malicious reasons, and unless he was, he would not want to ruin anyone's career. the problem is, it's very hard to believe that these players had downloaded a trojan which he either programmed himself, or would be able to access as a weakness to inject code into. it'd be a lot more likely for the weakness to be located within the client itself using a manipulation of code. i'd also like to point out that the box and name tags shown on genburten's clip featured an apex font that you'll be able to see be used officially, which is interesting to me since it points to the hacks being built and manipulated with official modified code, rather than an injection of a custom built client

imo this was just pro accidently caught cheating and pretending its some big hack .. its been no secret they whitelist big streamers to keep attention the game with "softbots" and the text in chat always been super common with these hacks even back in 2009 in mw2 if you had infections then you would spam the person IG account in game.

It's a DMA CARD cheat, they have UID and access to anyone who has that UID. Then they can use that as a piggyback. They were cheating with a dma and destroyer found the UIDs.
