At one point they changed the damage calculation of the spear, so it doesn't matter if you jump away after throwing the spear, as the damage is calculated from where you throw it rather than where you are when it hits. This was changed several years ago already but I also remember doing that back in the days.

I’ve been forever put off vegemite. When I was little during kindy lunch time someone threw their wrapped vegemite and cheese sandwiches on the ground.
