In this compilation, predator and prey is the main event. From bobcats hunting hares to wolves hunting possums, no animal is safe every time from an apex predator. And when thats not the case, there's always disputes, whether its between a pack of wolves and a wolverine over some food or some rams who just cant seem to get along. However, sometimes these prey species are clever with their manoeuvres, and these herbivores manage to outsmart their carnivorous counterparts.

These, the Deeble & Stone and all those other old timey documentaries are the best. You can just feel the passion and love for what they do, it doesn't feel so disconnected as the mainstream documentaries of today do.

Marty Stouffer and his brothers always made great animal and nature documentaries. Marty loved animals and the outdoors, especially the Western states, and it showed in the quality of his productions. Mutual of Omaha, with Marlin Perkins, also had great nature content. Brings back long ago memories of watching these series in the 70s.

Enjoyed the high quality real life video footage that was loaded with action. The film crew had to spend days in the Mountains and Wilderness to be able film the scenes that are in this compilation. The Editors had to work to put it all together and the Narrator did a fine job to help explain the action. Most people who spend limited time in Wilderness areas would be fortunate to see one of these action scenes unfold, so this type of movie is a treat for us that love nature.

Hey Marty, I watched these videos in my teens and absolutely loved them then and now too. That was back in the 1970's! Today I'm in my 60's and still love your commentary and the lengths to which you went to get these awesome videos. I'm so glad you chose to take up nature videos. I raised my son on these rather than cartoons and I'll tell you! He was way more advanced in his natural sciences classes because of your work. Thank you for once again introducing a new generation to your work. Your work is invaluable to those of us today as we can see how conservation efforts have given these animals a chance to thrive. The discontinuance of DDT in the 1970's has given the once endangered birds a second chance to bring them up to today's thriving populations. I've seen the comments that your numbers are wrong but when this video was published the bird population was on the decline and there were very few bald eagles at the time back in the 1970's but they've thrived and increased in numbers in the decades since then, for which we are all grateful for. I believe that it was determined that ALL egg laying critters were on the decline due to the use of DDT which was made illegal back then, I believe. Thanks once again for your wonderful work!

"They are predator and prey, but they are not enemies..." and, "A happy ending, if you were rooting for the hare, but the hare is not the underdog..." if only more folks thought on this plane> and how the "circle of life" realistically functions. Wild America was the first animal based documentary series I ever encountered. My father introduced me to the program when I was four years old. I distinctly remember watching it with him on Sunday nights in the livingroom of our singlewide trailer, courtesy of PBS...Those were the days, am I right??? Waaaay back in 1984 we did things like play outside all day til we were utterly exhausted- because our parents told us too- and then we came in and ate dinner- at this thing called a table- then we took baths and got to lounge around w/ mom and dad for about an hour and a half- or about 3 tv shows- and then we went to bed. w/ no screens of anykind in our rooms because there was 1 tv in the home- and it belonged to the adults- at all times...not to mention it was so large it was literally a piece of furniture in it's own right- it sat on the floor and was the size of a coffee table but taller and the screen was totally encased in thick, heavy wood and speakers. And on that giant piece of technological genius streaked the mighty bobcat, in hot pursuit of the nimble little snowshoe hare> all the action being narrated, of course, by the incomparable Mr. Marty Stouffer- his style, a mixed tone, somewhere between professor, philosopher, sportscaster and friend...Say what you will-and i love Sir David Attenborough- but Marty was my first, and so my favorite...And the memories attached to the series are a tether to a better, simpler, time...Thanks for the revival Real Wild- though this wasn't your mission, you aced it and i am most grateful for the chance to timetravel with all who are watching so as we look back, let us also look forward> Happy New Year, may peace be with you always and everywhere

Marty was probably the best North American wildlife cinematographer I've ever watched. Clean concise and learn as you go. Was fair and honest. I grew up on Marlin Perkins before he sat in the safety of the helicopter as Jim wrestled the 30 ft Anaconda. 😨😆😅😂. (For those who know). Marty's production brought real life, right here and right now. It wasn't Africa but our own backyard in jeopardy. Not by hunters but urban and suburban sprawl. Those so called environmental groups do more to devastate wildlife and habitat, while hunters, fishermen men and women alike, trappers do more to support wildlife and habitat than all other groups combined every year. Tell me when Sierra have been anywhere near the northeast coast of the U.S.?. How bout I go take a look at their dwellings and landscape?

야생의 자연은 흥미롭습니다. 야생에서 동물들이 서로 사냥하고 공격하는 모습이 인상적이다. 저에게 유익한 영상입니다. 다음 영상도 계속 시청하겠습니다.

Yes the Alaskan Kodiak bear is technically the biggest bear in the world however polar bears can get just as tall and have know to weigh up to 2,210lbs. Polar bears average weight is around 1,000 to 1,500 lbs. While average weight of a Kodiak bear is 1,500lbs and the polar bears is varies between 1000 to 1500lbs the polar bear can actually grow to be way bigger and heavier if it well fed tho this is rare since that's why the Kodiak bear is technically the biggest bear in the world

Saying only 1,000 pair of Bald Eagles exist today in the United States is incorrect. Washington State alone has that many. Alaska has more Bald Eagles than any other state. There are 30 Thousands of them. Even Florida has one of the largest populations of the American Bald Eagle.

This aired in 1982, and was from collective works of the Stouffer brothers, dating back as far as the mid 60s. Their work in wildlife conservation is likely responsible for there BEING so many Bald Eagles today.
