I bought mine NIB never fired for 250 bucks with 2 mags and a molded IWB holster. Fantastic deal. I’ve had this pistol for about 4 years and I still carry it to this day on occasion. I’ve fired thousands of rounds through it and it’s never, not once malfunctioned. I’ve not done anything to the gun but a light and extended mag plate and custom rear plate. It’s underrated imo.

Thanks for the review, and repeating what the website stated about the states the barrel isn’t currently available. After doing some searching it’s stated that installing a threaded barrel on a semi-auto pistol creates an illegal unregistered assault weapon. Thus, you’re not able to legally register it in the state of California. I can’t wait to leave this state, and go back to FL.

My SD9VE has the barrel you're talking about. I've had much trouble with that barrel from Apex. It will jamb when firing. All the time. When I put the original barrel will fire flawlessly. I've tried comparing the Apex barrel with the original to see if there are very small differences. It just will not slide smoothly enough to eject the spent bullet. It's come down to sanding off the coating in order to get to a smooth barrel. I've already changed out the trigger with the Apex trigger and am pleased with the result.

Here are some items that will upgrade your pistol, Truglo TG231MP Brite site then you can add the Streamlight TLR-6, 69293 that fits the Smith and Wesson M&P pistol fits the 40VE/9VE and works great. I have the Streamlight TLR-6 on many of my sidearms and hope to have one on all of them. This model has a Laser and 100 Lumen light and it not too bulky and very light I highly recommend them and Fobus makes a holster RBT17 that works with this sidearm with a light installed. the CAA Roni & MCKs are great. CAA is an awesome company they listen to their customers they make great items. I would recommend having 2 pistols one to install in a CAA MCK and one on your hip and have a "Perfect Pair"(sidearm and carbine/rifle in the same caliber and even better if they use the same magazine also!) No idea why people shit on the SDVE. It's essentially an American made Glock for 1/2 the price by a company that's just a reputable and been around for a whole lot longer. And the amount of money some people drop into their Glocks, they really have no right to complain. Just wish there was more aftermarket support for the sdve platform. It basically takes a backseat to the M&P series.
