100% agree that its always best to get out of a losing trade ASAP. Makes better sense to re enter with a high probability setup and 1 unit of risk. Hope is ultimately a losing strategy

What happens if you put a stop loss then your position doesn't go well and you cut your trade with a small gain. Your risk was 50 and you cut it at +5 instead of waiting to hit your stop loss

Hi, if Apex don't want you to be gambler in PA & live account then why same Apex wants you to be gambler in passing eval. in one day.!!! I don't understand. Boris explain this. Don't blindly promote Apex , may be you may getting some benefit. While evaluation same Apex wants on one side of casino and once you pass and graduated to PA they want you to be on other side of casino table. Stay away from scammers. my 2 cents.

Most of that $ was paid to Alpine and his trading family. These new rules target them specifically! They are even having payouts denied and reviewed. One trader this weekend denied after 60+ payouts…Definitely scammers, this new way os not great: my funded futures, Leeloo, oneup, fast track trading, blu sky a few more reputable firms!

ok let me say this slowly. APEX is not saying you have to pass in 1day just means you dont have to trade for 7 anymore before you can pass it even if you hit your target goal for the evaluation. It simply means you can hit your target goal whenever and not have to wait. When you hit the magic target you move to PA status eligible.

I often risk 10 to make 15 or 20 points sometimes you just got to hold throughout a Down draw this is why it's so important to have a good-sized cushion

There are sooo many members with payout issues currently. These new rules mean they can literally pick one and use to deny payout. One of Apex’s oldest members with 60+ payouts have just been denied without a reason given. Many more have been waiting for over a month! This new system seems to be a new way to keep traders profits without repercussions. Be careful with them: Topstep, Leeloo, bule , oneup and my funded futures more reliable and honest!

They ARE denying payouts and removing comments! Most of the payouts were made to Alpine and his group. One of Apex’s oldest traders with 60+ payouts just got declined with no reason given! Others have been under review over 1 month with some waiting since 1st may. Others have had to do zoom sessions and breakdown their strategy and then have a setup within days of the call!!! Something has changed be careful. My funded futures, oneup or blue ox all great and honest, good luck!

To me the DCA issue comes down to this. With strictly day trading meaning you have to be flat by COB it makes much less sense to do so. DCAing really only works in swing situations where you can hold past the end of the day(meaning you need major margin to cover the hour window and you cant hold anyway on APEX). It just doesnt work with Apex so I can see why they want it to stop because all it does is lead to blown accounts because that trailing drawdown is gonna get you eventually.

If you have never had a payout then you shouldn't be worried about the DCA or negative drawdown trading you should worry about 1st getting funded

I am not aware. HOWEVER - nothing stops you from re-enterting the same trade one hour later when trading resumes on Globex

The problem is the massive amount needed to cover the trade during the 1 hr break is massive compared to the day leverage. For example I could be trading say 20 contracts total. The amount needed to cover the brief overnight vs day margin is like 5-6X difference.

@@yazz6548 theyre actually regulated by CFTC and such. Some of the griping being done is by people who tried to game the system. Especialy those who try to skirt rules on trading dont like they can dig as deep a whole as they want DCAing instead of just cutting their losses like a sane person would do. Theyve had people complaining from blowing up multiple accountsbecause they think they can just shove blindly like theyre in a casino and have blown in some cases 30+ PA accounts which is insane to me.

DCA fine for long term trading or investment as pointed out its absolutely incredibly stupid when you are day trading and have to be out by EOD on all trades. Theres literally no way to know or assume those trades that are dropping will recover. Truth is people have often blown up evals and PAs using DCA because the market keeps moving against them. Again its fine if your long term movement trading but when the whole cycle is basically 23hrs theres often no time or way to know DCAing will succeed in such a small window especially when often people on the platform are mostly doing ES NQ YM plus Gold and Silver and such. The market often once it sorts itself out will head one direction and continuing to plow into it adding volume thats increasing your DD is just poor risk management for a single day. Hell today was a good example where it went Jekyll and Hyde. Early spikes at NY opening 930am on all indexes and then sputtered and ended down for the day.

I left APEX because of the new rules. There are many other prop firms with no DCA and Stop rules. I have seen many not been paid because of the new rules, I know people wasted weeks of they time to get denied, not worth the time and effort.

So TopStep only allows 3 accounts so max purchase power of 450k which is literally less then 2 of the 300k accounts on Apex. Also your stuck waiting to be blessed by their overlords to move. You could be showing consistency and wins and until somebody there decides your worthy then and only then will TopStep let you trade for real money on their sim account. Your essentially at their mercy and oh yeah your still paying that monthly fee every month while Apex offers the option of not having to do that. Im not saying Top Step isnt a decent firm never heard of them scamming and not paying but they operate differently and legit limit traders income potential in the long run.

On a personal account, I’m up $334.40 net tonight on CL. I am done for the session. I’ve ranged from grossing $10 to $90 per trade. My stop loss sits at $1,000 for every trade. I utilized a DCA once and grossed $70 off that set up. I did all the awful things which Apex hates.
