Mate I know you did this 5 years ago but I am making the same decision now and I have to go GHL like you said it’s not a toy the power bars are made for my country. You also said there was a lot of programming but that said once it’s done that’s it so it GHL for me Thanks for the video

Their kit is hard to get in the UK now, I think. They seem to have dropped off a bit think.

I have seen this mentioned on forums and it is very true. The most important thing with a controller is reliability. Nice looking GUI is great but its not going to be much comfort if your heater gets stuck on or your salinity bottoms out because the Apex is locking up or the probes are producing wrong readings.

really didnt compare any of the features, pricing or anything useful. just repeated over and over how you like the software on apex better and the look of the ghl. maybe in part 3 come real comparison....

Now that mate both overpriced in my opinion and the tech support we get in the UK after sales is shit in comparison to the US and we pay a premium for it if you want some max out and apex now you could spend £10,000 absolutely ridiculous and it’s not even that kip have you heard that doz running sounds like a cat being strangled and it’s 600 quid for two heads makes my piss boil I want an aquarium controller and I’ve got the money to spend but there’s no way I’m paying a premium for substandard shit

They are a good piece of kit but I think we can really over complicate things in this hobby. I think the Apex kinda adds to that. It can fully automate your system but it's wether you need to or not. My tank literally gets no love from me at the minute and it's the most settled it's ever been.

Still happy with the Apex? I'm in the same boat as you were, Profilux 4 vs Apex, too bad that they won't produce a EB832 for us UK users. I was considering the WAV pump too but have to pay for an addition 1Link module.

Bosco HKG yeah it’s a tough call. The Apex is not as plug and play as it seems and the salinity probe took months of trying to calibrate to get it semi accurate and I still don’t trust it. Loses calibration often. I also hate the program language used and all the cables and modules are hard to keep tidy. With that being said I have a apex ATO, leak detectors, auto feeder and may get the module for my Ecotech lights and pumps. The phone app has been rock solid as has the connection. But I just think the GHL is easier to program because it’s drop down boxes not so much actual code and the unit looks a lot more tidy.Wav pumps are a rip off in the UK in my opinion and would stick with Vortechs or Gyres. I think both are great kits and I know I’m not doing much with my Apex so that’s my fault for not really getting my head round the program language. I’m happy with it but would much rather it was in a GHL form factor 😂

915Mang yeah took nearly all of it just to wire up the Apex 😂 it was interesting setting it up to say the least.

Karen Young it kind of depends quite often as the distributors are often more important then the actual company that make the products as they will normally deal with any faulty products. Also is the item bought online or a store you can walk into. There’s loads of factors to think of in my opinion but remember stores will often promote brands that they themselves are getting a good deal with from the company/distributer sales reps. So you buy an item from a shop who bought the item from a distributer who in turn ships in the item from the producer. If my apex went belly up I would not be ringing Neptune, I would go to where I purchased it who would probably pass me on to the distributer who would take care or not of the issue. I have heard of amazing service from Neptune and GHL, I have also heard shocking service from both I’m afraid.

Great video man 👌 I totally understand, as much as you don’t want to like apex’s, it seems to be the better product. Witch is quite annoying. I was really looking forward to the vextex’s controller coming out, but god knows what has happened with that.

scott wells yeah I was looking at the Vertex myself but they have been developing it for about 8yrs so when it’s finally fully released it will already be obsolete 😂 The Apex is good no doubt I just hate all the wires 🤦‍♂️

He is the worst. Never seen more horrible spokesman. So arrogant, condescending and live in a denial. I remember how reef kept was like that, arrogant and do not listen to their customers. Loom where they are now..am rooting for GHL.
