Love the music with the seed of video. I'm amazed at how much I pick up, or at least think I pick up from watching pro's work. I like not having it all spoon fed to me and just watching you do your thing. I think some channels get overboard with the voiceovers trying to make sure the weakest link get it too. I like this style better.

I really enjoy your videos, you always come up with really good ways to construct projects. I also enjoy your videos with Jody. I Have never seen a video about shooting aluminum wire out of the ESAB 285ic, without a spool gun. There is not much in their owners manual about it. There are settings in the machine, and specific drive rolls for this purpose. I'd love to get you guys' take on the subject. That would be original and informative content. Keep up the good work!
@jdbrewer6638
@jdbrewer6638 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I will look into it. Running aluminum out of the machine without a push-pull gun is difficult... I'm sure the rollers and liner would have to be changed but that still makes it hard to push aluminum +10'
@darenscott1718
@darenscott1718 5 жыл бұрын
@@jdbrewer6638 I'm on the fence about buying a spool gun for my 285ic, or trying to run it out of the machine. ESAB's information is scant, and the guys at the welding shop are helpful, but not real world welders. I'd feel more confident in my choice if you guys could say either way. Making the comparison between the two options, like you guys did with Dualshield/short circuit MIG, would make a good vid. So full discloser: My appeal to original and informative content is not altruistic. As if you hadn't guessed that already. Thanks!

nice one JD,a quick question if you have time mate . What is the best stick inverter welder you have found that will run off of dirty power like a small generator, i only need it to run 3/32" 7018 to do on site repairs and stuff builld the occasional shed.
@jdbrewer6638

Mp210 or a rebel 215 are great... ahp makes some good little stick and tig machines but I haven't run it off a generator like the 210 and 215.

Were you ever able to get the Lincoln 210mp to do spray transfer with hardwire, and have you ever run dual shield flux core with it? If I could pick your brain? Thanks
@jdbrewer6638
@jdbrewer6638 4 жыл бұрын
No, needs more amperage than 200 amps... that's way I'd use fluxcore, similar welds but within the machines range
@joelmacleod17
@joelmacleod17 4 жыл бұрын
JD Brewer, I figured it needed more power. I weld at work with .045 flux core everyday. Trying to find 11lb rolls of flux core here in Canada seems to be hard for some reason. It would be great to have at home on the 210mp.

@@jdbrewer6638 Thank for your response. I'm a newb to metal fabrication, so am I safe to assume that since this is a 'shop fixture' and not a piece of living room furniture it's OK to leave the mill scale on? Or was the piece blasted and/or flap disced/scotch brighted and acetone washed prior to lacquering? Thanks again.
