Great review, I also have one of these and have the same similar issues and niggles as you have. Still a great piece and the lighting effects are fun to play around with, I currently have the Hot Toys MK III 2.0 displayed in it with the diorama base and it looks awesome!! I would only display my favorite pieces in it, I do think its abit overpriced, like you could get 2 detolfs for the same price or even abit cheaper instead of one of these. Overall I would give it a 7 or 8 as well.

Like you say for around the same price you could get a whole Detolf….if they still made them😕 but when you have a figure in there, particularly die cast figures they really do look amazing and make sense. Thanks for this review, I have one of these myself and perhaps I was fortunate but I did not have any issues with it, like you say perhaps unit by unit provides a difference experience in the set up?. The lighting effects are quite amazing and like no other unit I know. I use it for my best figure Wonder Woman WB100. To be honest I think I would only purchase further units for INART pieces to set them apart, they are expensive and do take up space but for those special pieces they are a great option, will,you rotate figures in your two cases to show your favourite figures? I guess I got the one that missed the QC check unfortunately, but it doesn’t detract from this being a stunning display box👍🏼 I’m glad to hear your enjoying yours and I have high hopes for the other one🤞🏻but a review is a review and I have to say what I see. Why would you “lose” magnets when installing the side panels? As the instructions state, you have to remove the clear film from the acrylic *before* placing it and putting the magnets through the holes 🥴 To cycle through brightness levels, you have to be in dynamic mode. You can either adjust ALL of the overheads or ALL of the pillar lights with the buttons on the top right or the remote. For individual lights you can cycle through by pressing the individual buttons for that light. It’s all in the remote’s manual.

Having removed the clear plastic prior to construction it became apparent that the holes for the magnets were slightly too large or the magnets slightly too small for the holes. This is not an issue when the panel is in place as it is held securely but when the panel is removed the magnets fall out. It’s worth mentioning this is not the case with the second display box I constructed, which had non of the issues of the first. All new product unboxing/reviews are done “live” with no prior investigation of the product in order to keep the review as real and genuine as possible. With over 65,000 lighting effects to choose from it took some time to locate the brightness cycling in dynamic mode, which would have not been practical to include in a twenty minute review. I apologise for any confusion this may have caused, take care of yourself and happy collecting👍🏼

I have four of these chained together. Half the time I love them the other half they are highly frustrating. They don't always respond to the lighting settings. When you manually adjust the lighting at the highest brightness, they all flip out and need to be unplugged for about 20 minutes before I can get them to reset. One of these is an awesome experience. More than that start to have issues.

Hello, you mentioned that there was a problem with the light on the pillar, which caused you to reassemble it again? I want to know if there is a problem with the instruction manual? Or is it?

Thanks for your comments and supporting the channel its much appreciated 👍🏻 I wouldn’t say there is a problem with the instruction manual, however it could be clearer on which way the LED strip should be inserted in the side bar to marry the connectors in the base correctly. The instruction manual implies it doesn’t matter which way the strips go in but it does. It’s not deal breaker though, a bit of caution with the wiring and you are left with a stunning display case 👍🏻 Take care of yourself and happy collecting.

If you have a hot toys figure that requires you to plug it in to use the light up features, can you do that in this display case as it seems there is no way to get a cable inside it.

Thanks for your comments and supporting the channel its much appreciated 👍🏻 very good question…as far as I can tell the only way to get a separate lighting cable into one of the boxes would be to drill a hole through either the side or back perspex/acrylic panel and feed the wire through. You could maybe drill a hole through the plastic base section as this comes apart but you would have to very cautious as there is wiring and circuit boards in there…personally I wouldn’t attempt it. I got mine from Pop Collectibles (5 in total). It took a bit of pushing them, but I'd message them BEFORE purchasing. Ensure they have it in stock, and when you do purchase, do it with a credit card (not debit) so that in case they take forever, you can issue a chargeback.

Great review. I have five of the old type ( where they come already complete) has the same lights control ( except the warm light). So i really waited more for my InArt figures. Really wanted the Ultra, but so many telling me about setting them up and now watching your video has put me off a bit more. But saying all that the lighting affects are worth it. At some point i will get some more but this ultra next time. Your video review really does show this very well ( once set up). 😊

Thanks for that it’s much appreciated 👍🏻 Absolutely 💯 a bit of a nightmare to put together but once done they are pretty impressive and I will possibly get some more. The only thing missing imo is some lighting in the base section for horror/scary figures to give them that under lit menacing look. This is my first time with Apex so I have nothing to compare them too but so far I’m liking them a lot. Take care of yourself and happy collecting👍🏻
