+Austin Ballard Woah, me three. Remember the page in the manual that had all the nation flags? I remember copying them, redesigning them, drawing new ones etc. It got me into flag and logo design for other stuff as well. My favorite's still Stromgarde. I liked the scales on the flagpole.

WC2's and Day of the Dragon's depiction of Humanity/Alliance was the most interesting they've ever been. They were warriors of light, yes. But still brutal to those who oppose them (not just Orcs, but the Humans of Alterac). Still behaved like they were separate countries with separate interests rather than a team of incapable superheroes under the Wrynns (aka don't act like any believable humans). Can you even tell me a real-life man in power who acts like Varian or Anduin?

It is a commmon business strategy to wind down the dark-shaped violence and turn it into candy-like graphics to appeal to broader audience. Same thing has happened with WC2 --> WoW, Crush the Castle --> Angry birds ---> DayZ / PUBG --> Fortnite.

Throwing my opinion in again. In my opinion, War 2 never really had a good story; that was until the book adaptations came in. Warcraft 3 was the pinnacle: it, for me, defined what Warcraft is. Then WoW came along and.. Made it better, but that's not the point. War3 went waaaaaaaay indepth with the story. That's a good thing, a very good thing. The characters were great. The story was intriguing. And the best thing is: all campaigns are canon! War1 and 2 never did that. Warcraft 2 did not have indepth characters, or an intriguing story. Yes, you had the mission briefings in the beginning of each mission: but they told you fuck all in terms of the story. Especially with the hero characters: nothing. You had to read the manual. You shouldn't read the god damn manual to get to know story.

My problem with the story of Warcraft 3 is the Prophet is a huge moron and all of the fighting between the Alliance, Horde, and Night Elves could have been prevented if Prophet had told them to team up earlier. Worst guardian ever! As for the characters, they were fine, but I really hated Arthas because his campaign is based around destroying everything that I spent Warcraft 2 protecting. The sole reason I got Wrath of the Lich King was just so I could kill him and sent him to the special place in hell. I hope he spends eternity there. But that's all my opinion.

Back when the game had mystery. Not saying WoW is wrong, many have enjoyed it. Just hoping they will do the right thing and deliver a proper Warcraft 4 RTS and cater to people who stayed since Warcraft I.

Back in the day, I didn't have a PC powerful enough to run this game (heck, our PC didn't even have a CD-ROM drive) so I played this game on the original PlayStation. When I picked up the Battle.net edition a few years later I was surprised to hear this first song. Was it in the original game and simply cut from the PSX version?

Considering that the Horde is supposed to represent brabarism and a tribal motif, the more sophisticated types of instruments aren't quite what I'd expect to find in an orc oriented piece of music.

How did you rip the music off the cd? I have the warcraft 2 + dark portal (battle.net edition) at home and my media players, which I use for ripping, can't read any music from it. I looked for the soundtracks in the mpq-file, but without success.
