all you need is a spectroscope/graph - just explore the patch values until you see that shape. What's more incredible is that it could be done and he thought enough to do it where his fans would pick up on it. He embedded his face into a song and it was discovered by a 19-year-old named Jarmo Niinisalo, who tweaked the settings in his spectrographic software to find it. Richard James didn't do it for money, or a spot on the billboard like nearly all artists are driven to do. He did it with the intention that someone would find these hidden things. His love for creating is straight up unconditional.

@anidolinteal313211 ай бұрын
@@Tavat Spectrograph is similar to an Oscilloscope, except the display is vertical, and the bursts of sound are indicated by flashes of bright color instead of the light just showing the shape of the sound waves. The advantage of Spectrography is that the actual pitch of the notes can be determined by their physical location on the graph - in this case, the pitch of the sounds at the end causes the spectrograph to draw a certain shape. It's not the only time Aphex Twin has done something like this, either. He embedded a scary face into another song of his and when you see it on a spectrograph glaring at you during a horrifying sound, you know he's not fucking about.

I literally rolled my eyes during that scene. Like “ugh, OF COURSE it would be Windowlicker.” How cliche!! It is a French film tho, so pretty on point I guess. That said, it was really well done and they used the song quite effectively. That scene sort of ended up being the climax of Climax haha. Really enjoyed that film and of course hearing Aphex Twin was a bit of nostalgia mixed with re-experiencing an old trippy electronic tune in a new horrifying way.

Late 90s early 00s edm- techno, breakbeat, house etc- is the perfect example of an art form really growing into itself, hitting it's peak value, and melting the faces, minds, and hearts of it's audience.
