@@aphlearntodrawmanga usually they all explain the basics, going on with simple things and how you should write a script, then the name (or nemu) and things like that. What I really appreciated of this video is how some proper tips were given to write better storyboards, for example I had no idea that is better to have a number of pages that is a multiple of 4, but actually makes sense if you think that most manga artists make 16 pages per week. Overall I enjoyed how this video had the aim to look for more concrete solutions to most amateurs problems, and by knowing these rules a lot of aspiring manga artists will be able to improve their manga.

Agree. This was the very last video I was gonna click on the subject before just doing trial and error after getting really annoyed with the other ones. Got lucky. Edit: I see you asked for some more specific feedback from the other poster, so I'll leave some too. All the other videos had one of these things that made me vary of filling my brain with any advice they had to give: Extreme Hypeman "I want to sell you something" intro & language: "HEY WHATS UP YOU GUYS SMASH THE LIKE BUTTON, SUBSCRIBE, HERES A SPONGEBOB MEME AND HERES A LOUD SIREN LETS GO GO GO, BUT DONT FORGET MY PATERON." This one had simple, clear language and the narrator didn't talk down at me. Doom Speak: "You MUST do this, THIS is why you FAIL, this is the ONLY WAY TO DO THIS, the way i do storyboards is the ONLY WAY." This one was encouraging and always underlined that theres no set way and its fine to find your own path, just remember the basics.

Great video. As someone who been trying to make manga since 7th grade now 9th. I’ve been really stumped. Throwing away stories. Spending month(s) at a time doing projects only to cancel them. And etc. I never even past the outline/scripting phase. But luckily I think I have a one shot idea that I enjoy since it takes the stories I like and combine them into my own. I’m saying this to say I’m glad I found your channel and thank you for the advice. 🎉

We’re glad to hear you’ve found a story that you feel strongly about! Nonetheless, we have advice from our PRO Mangaka mentor Nao Yazawa that we’d love to share. Finish your manga. Even if you’re not completely happy with it. Even if you’re tempted to change the storyline halfway through. You’ll learn a lot just from that experience and you can make your next manga even better. (Also, work on a short oneshot first so you’re more likely to finish)

You know, before i find this video, i always draw a rough simple drawing for concept on what i will draw before i draw my comic, like how animation have storyboard first before drawing so that they have a rough idea on what will they make and i follow that bc i though it was useful bc i didn't have to waste more time on drawing my comic and can draw more, Glad that i did. Anyway this was a useful informative video for my progress and help me more understand, great video 👍

You don’t cut the bleed area yourself. It may get naturally cut off during the printing process so just make sure to draw all the important parts in them.

I get how you feel. There’s a lot of competition. But if you want your art out there, then you’re gonna find a way. Don’t wait for your “opportunity”, make your own. Post it online, advertise at a convention, print it out and find a place to showcase. You’ll find a way, it’s all a matter of how much you want it. My recommendation is to find a way to sell it without needing to rely on corporate sponsorship. You got this. 👍

Storyboarding is important as it gives you and idea of how the final product should look like. It also gives you the choice to fix those minor mistakes while you can. but if you skip it, lets just say- "GAHHHHHHHHHHHHH" cyz you're already done paneling, inking and then you realise- hey this speech bubble is in the wrong place. hey the backround looks tacky. and all the time, hardwork and effort into that panel goes to waste
