Hey man. Thanks for the video - I'm a bit confused with the back of the API 8 500. I have 2 stereo EQs : 1st on slots 1/2 2nd on slots 3/4 in my case, on the back of the unit - how would you do the input/output switches? or does that even matter since we're using D Sub from/too the mixer?
@TheAudioCzar Жыл бұрын
You wouldn't use the switches in your case because they would only feed the output of channel one into the input of channel two, which you don't want since it's a stereo unit.

For the API 8 slot, how many channels can you daisy chain? For example if channel 1 was chained to channels 2,3, and 4, does the audio output of the whole chain just come out channel 1 in the dsub? A bit confused and there's not much info online.
@TheAudioCzar3 жыл бұрын
You can Daisy chain all 8 if you want to. So output of 1 would go to the input of 2, output of 2 to input of 3, output of 3 to input 4, and so on, until 8 output of 8

@@TheAudioCzar assuming I create an 8 channel chain, what output channel would i be sending to my recording device/interface? Channel 1 or 8?
@alvincornistamusic87543 жыл бұрын
Or let me ask this: How do you use a Bus Compressor in Channels 1 & 2, followed by a Stereo EQ in channels 3 & 4?
@TheAudioCzar3 жыл бұрын
@@alvincornistamusic8754 If you're chaining from one through eight that means your signal is going from the first module into each module in between before it gets to eight, so your final output would be eight
@TheAudioCzar3 жыл бұрын
@@alvincornistamusic8754 using stereo units you would have to route them yourself so you would have to physically connect the output of channel one to the input of channel three that would be the left of your compressor and left of your EQ for example and then connect channel two output to channel four input. You can't daisy chain with stereo units because you're just feeding the output of one module into the input of the one adjacent. So if it's a stereo unit you're just feeding channel one of that stereo unit into channel two of itself
