Thanks so much for such great vid. I'm between this Apidura or Bontrager adventure or Revelate Mag Tank. I think I'll follow your advice - Apidura. Kudos !!

Magnetic feature on the flap is awesome!

I thought so too until I had smartphones eject out of the bag on rides. I replaced my zippered Apidura backcountry bag after the zipper finally broke and thought the magnets would be much more convenient. Unfortunately the lid retention isn't strong enough to hold heavy items in the bag on rough gravel rides. I'd honestly only use these on smooth roads.

Your caution about weight distribution and restricted steering is helpful. I'll look into bolt ons to mitigate that. Also wow -- your stem looks long. What's the length and angle & how do you like it for climbs & descents?

That's a 130mm -6. Mostly because I use that bike for racing and it lets me get flatter on the bike. There are definitely tradeoffs there when it comes to technical riding (e.g. single track), where it's more sluggish than a shorter stem (I have a 120mm on my other gravel bike).

What are those gloves that you're wearing? How do you like them?

I havee the bolt-on model of this bag for my gravel bike. On a gravel road pothole it ejected my iPhone. Do not trust this magnetic latch. I contacted Apidura customer support and was asked to replicate with video. So don't count on Apidura standing behind this product and, if your ride agressively (I'm 74, but I do old-man hammer a bit) don't put anything you value in this bag.

Sorry you had that experience. FWIW, I also have the bolt-on version and regularly put my phone in it without issue. When I race (including the one where I crashed at 25mph), I use it to store the battery pack for my GoPro, also without issue. It's hard to say why it works for me, and you've experienced a problem. But it's possible that you can mitigate the chance this will happen again by placing your phone as far away from the latch as possible so any force it might apply when hitting a bump has the smallest amount of leverage against the latch.
