Thank you for this video. I totally relate to your story and have the same issue. Was terrified of BMT but think it’s the way to go if I want my life back

So glad to see that you are doing so well! My daughter also suffers from aplastic anemia. We have not had a transplant yet but she is doing well. As a parent, it means so much for me to hear how the experience is for others that are also on this wild and crazy ride. Thank you and God Bless!

Very good to hear your story. My sister has been diagnosed with AA and a BMT is being planned for 10th Sept 2009. Was your donor from in your family?

I'm 40 now, but I've always had to write things down so I remember it. So I don't exactly remember when I got ill with Aplastic Anemia. But my parents says it were in 95. I remember this one time I got to spend the weekend at home. I were crossing the road with my mom, holding onto her arm and walking like I were 90 years old. Then this idiot of a car driver started honking his horn impatiently, because all he sees is this young person with their mom crossing the street, and he saw no reason why someone so young walks this slow. I were clearly showing I had problems wealking any faster, but he either did not care or understand. Even to this day it angers me how shortminded people can be, angry at this idiot. Just because I were young, it doesn't mean I can't get ill...

I also have a fan on to circle the air in the house. I wash my hands alot because I touch my face often 😂 I never drink after any one. When I hug I look away from the others face. Gotta not get sick. ❤but ya still need love ❤️. Just keep ur docs informed of any weird feelings. Keep ur appointments and blood work up dated. God bless.

My niece's husband recently diagnosed aplastic anemia. What if you don't have a bone marrow donor? Here in the Philippines transplant is very very expensive 😔

I’m not sure how helpful I can be due to my age for when I treated for aplastic anemia, but I can tell you what I remember and what I looked up. So basically I didn’t have a bone marrow transplant, based on my small research I think the treatment I had was called Anti-Thymocyte Globuli(ATG). You should ask a doctor about this form of treatment. This treatment doesn’t always work, but it worked for me. The side effects of it sucks, but if it works out like it did for me, then trust me, It was all worth it. I’m not sure how expensive it was, but my guess is that it was less than a bone marrow transplant. And if all of this was wrong, then I recommend to reach out to family to see if any would be willing to Attempt to donate. It has to be a match though, if it doesn’t match, the body will reject it. I hope this helped in someway, if not, my apologies and I hope that things will work out; if they haven’t already.

@@ayeyiemon9670 I’m currently 15 years old, It’s been about 5 years since I’ve had aplastic anemia. And I’m doing pretty good, I’m now in football and wrestling nowadays.

@@ayeyiemon9670 I forgot to mention that they put me on Neo Cyclosporine after the ATG. What they did was they lowered the dosage for me until I didn’t need it it anymore. They also put me on a steroid of some kind too, in order to help me rebuild my strength(I don’t remember when they took me off the steroid). Took me about 1 year or so to recover, but now I feel 1,000 times better now. I hope that everything thing works out for your dad.

I know this is an older video, but my daughter was diagnosed with aplastic anemia. She is 20 years old. She has no full siblings for donor (although they can search for donors outside of the family that are a close match), so they are recommending her do the ATG horse serum therapy, plus cyclosporine & Promacta.. We have not started that yet, but I read that it can put aplastic anemia in remission. I hope the doctors have long since found you a treatment and you are doing well today. ❤️
