she/he was strictly talking about APMAS audio tech not the band itself. As someone who is a roadie/Drum tech, The band sets up the way they want to sound, and then with things like this when it comes to recording videos the organization's etc. Sound tech does all this and what they say goes. It probably didn't sound like this live, all it takes is a little tweaking in the audio to make Brendon's voice the main sound. And Especially with big events like this sometimes unless the band throws a fit and demands, The APMA's sound tech runs the booth. Award shows are screwy like this, it's just something that happens behind the scenes.
