I live in saskatoon, I think the city deserves at least a 5 due to it's proximity to the dundurn ammo depot and the abundance of wild game within a short distance of the city.

You didn't consider: abundant food around, many physical resources around with low competition, no earth quakes or tsunami likely. Low landslide potential as well. Most people here still know their neighbours and live close to family and other networks of support.

Exactly, I’m about 2 hours north of Saskatoon, lots of wildlife, trees, water, and I know all of my neighbours, nearest city is about 45 minutes away, tornadoes are unlikely where I’m at leaving blizzards as the main concern, no other place I’d rather be.

lmao what the hell dude. I live here. Everywhere is at risk to nuclear fallout. Our wind is primarily from the northwest so there's a long way from places like Fairbanks, F.Greely, Wainwright or Eielson which would be hit. Abundant sources of food because the river is a major thorofare for animals, a decent amount of fish, and endless geese. Jarring and pickling keep food for a long time. It is high on small crimes like theft, but it's not highly dangerous. The cold keeps away the people that succumb to Darwin's rules. No problem with that.

Personally I think Medicine Hat would be a good place fur suburban SHTF survivability, there literally game that roams the streets and tons of agriculture surrounding the town. Actually scratch the idea with Medicine Hat, too close to Montana plus the chemical research military base by Suffield. Terrible idea! They're living on a bomb!

You make it sound like we live in a Detroit during Halloween level environment for crime. I’ve lived in Saskatoon all of my 53 years on earth and I’ve never been mugged or had my house robbed. It does get cold here in winter but so does Minnesota. I would say we are more safe here than many places because if we had enemies there would be not much here for them to target since we’re a small city with nothing logistical to target. No ammunition factories or important strategic facilities.
