Statement: A well-thought out and equipped kit. It's refreshing to see that you've taken water more seriously than most people do, if it is an emergency or crisis situation you may find yourself exerting way more than you're used to. Depending on the environment that can turn you water critical in less than a day. It's good to have spares but truthfully most people have way too many knives and fire methods but don't have any calories or water.

This is interesting. I have one of those cell phone dry cases that collects dust now that my phone has been replaced and is waterproof on its own (also it is a bit smaller than my previous phone so it rattles around inside it). I may have to look into putting a kit like this together either as a kit on it's own or as a companion to another small one I have been putting together in a small EDC molle pouch (similar to the maxpedition EDC pouch but a knock off).

Thanks BB... very nice comprehensive kit. Figuring out which pocket I could carry something like that around in though. Wintertime would be no problem; thrown into a coat pocket. Need to invest in pants with cargo pockets on them I guess?

Alan Williams Yeah or a backpack. These days I try to have at least a small daypack when I leave the car for the woods.

He doesn't mean cotton as in cotton balls he means a few cotton bandanas for pre filtering water making slings and many other great uses 👍 the more you know

You didn’t “choose the size to be similar to a smartphone,” you bought a dry box already designed for a smart phone and used it. I’ve had one in my canoe since iPhones were a thing. And dryer lint works tons better for your combustible and is also more cost effective to redirect the expense to other parts of the kit.

Chris Gilliam just always been my plan go in either combat medic or infantry
@chrisharpster30077 жыл бұрын
John Crawford Go for doc, once you get out alot of EMS departments will hire you on. The combat medic degree translates to an NREMT-A, and with the GI Bill if you wanted to go stateside and become a Paramedic, you'll literally be the next step below. A combat medic was going to be my MOS in the Army, but sadly due to medical issues, I was unable to enlist. So then I just became an EMT stateside.

@cole196117 жыл бұрын
Karl sp I thought this was BUDGET bug out
@BudgetBugout7 жыл бұрын
cole19611 You are correct, budgeting IS important for bugging out. For a mere $20 a month you can create a lifesaving kit over the span of 1 year (assuming you don't own any of these items). I make very little from a military salary so if I can afford this...
