i did something similar with friends for Halloween a couple years ago. We did twisted fairytales. My one friend did Alice but she went Mad. I was The "Drowned" Little Mermaid. So i make a red wig look wet and worse a bra i made look like ariel's shells and made a sort of dress of a fabric that looked likes sails and had seaweed and net on me. Basically i was turned human but didn't make it to the surface in time

Fabric cutting tip for you Heather, especially if you’re just cutting a long straight line. cut just an inch into the fabric then rip it apart the rest of the way. You were using flannel, so I don’t know how well that would have worked, but it ain’t impossible. Works best on woven fabrics.
