Popping in as someone who’s been subscribed for the Pokemon since the “fixing the worst pokemon” series: the monster catching element of Apoctober is REALLY good! I like the unique take on it that enhances the horror rather than drowning it out- that you can see something and the damage it’s causing and not be able to do a thing about it until you can find the most human element of it- it’s mortal weakness. These Apoctober monsters are so good and I’m so excited to see the rest!

What if macrabra's shell whistle amplifies someone's voice? Like when a human uses it, it sounds like human screaming, but when the pokemon uses it, it sounds like it's pokemon cry and Macrabra uses the shell because it's voice is so low on its own. I think it'd be more endearing of a pokemon if it was true

Love the design of Macrabra, although I'm not sure Soundproof would be that useful considering that out of the 28 sound-based moves in the game it would be immune to 17 of them anyway due to being a Ghost-type.

i suppose pokemon or abilities that convert sound to other types, ie pixilate, liquid voice, aerilate, refrigerate and galvanize, and any moves that make the pokemon's moves change type, would get blocked out by it too?

@@Doublejho Technically yes, but most of them are Mega forms and thus probably wouldn't be available. Outside of Aurorus and Primarina there's not really any Pokémon who both have that kind of ability and also learn decent sound-based moves they'd want to use.

I love the idea that to recapture these beings in the amulet, you have to appeal to their only weakness on the mortal plane. Makes you think about what they like most, and how to reverse it. Awesome designs as well. Would definetly be scared out of my mind if I saw them in real life.

I'm really loving Apoctober, and it makes me wish you guys would make it into a book series; trust me, it'll sell. Also looking forward to more spooky Pokémon, but I was hoping for more hollowed forms, too. I still like one of my ideas: Hollowed Dugtrio - the Rot Pokémon. Basically, they'd be three zombie heads (with little hands poking out, like I always imagine Diglet and Dugtrio have) with their bodies underground. DEX: It is said that Hollowed Dugtrio love nothing more than surprising unsuspecting victims which are then pulled beneath the earth. When a Hollowed Moon rises in the sky, should the ground begin to shake, you should begin to run."

1 year ago, I listened to apoctober while making a spooky one shot for me and my friends. 1 year and that one shot grew into a massive campaign and I’m listening to this while writing a “one year anniversary” session for the campaign. Thanks so much for doing this series!

I could see Macrabara having a horrifying Gigantomax form. I imagine that the whistle would be cracked to allow more of Macraba's wispy body to peak out, as if the eldritch mass of claws and tendrils that Macrabra has become is just about to break free.

I think Apoctober has the potential to be a really interesting TV-series. In every episode the characters find an (excuse my spelling) edigmorph (?) and go through the process of figuring out how to catch it and then execute the plan the way its described in Celeste's journal. I would totally watch that even though I'm not into horror.

I never seen Apoctober before but these designs are amazing. I’m kind of sad you’re not doing Hollow forms this year they’re what inspired me to do my own plus a whole region based on Halloween. In fact this year I’m doing a reboot of the region giving it and the Pokémon a more updated appearance. I also wanted to see how far I’ve come as an artist since last year.

Incredible Job, your illustrations were amazing. They gave me a really nice prompt for the spooky Halloween moments in my ongoing DnD campaign. I think that candle witch will work out, both as creepy and sometimes comedic character. I imagine her as stuck in wax but her arms prolong unnaturally and her little crabs helps out with the ingredients and adding wax over wax. Amazing job, thanks for the content.

The first prompt was absolutely amazing! And on the Titan prompt, you said it seemed to be looking for something. I have a cute idea on that one. It's looking for a way home, though it may not fully know who or what to look for. Something so massive could easily feel lonely, and so might be in need of a friend. If it finds a friend, it might shrink enough to be captured.

The story telling for the Apoctober is really good. Hearing it and the each story gives me the vibe of a monster of the day king of anime, a bit more akin to Card Captors. I've suggested this consistently and I'm still gonna. A ghost fighting type named Olkicks or olkix that is a reference to the Aztec sport that was essentially a ritualistic mix of a proto-soccer and proto-basketball which was sometimes used to determine whether war captives would be sacrificed.

I love all the designs! When you first made Macrabra, i was hoping you'd give it more of a cursed description like drifblim or Hypno! Something like: it's said that if a trainer blows into Macrabra without its permission, their voice will be stolen by the Pokemon forever. It then taunts the trainer with the sound of their own blood-curtling scream when it's used

Macrabra is an excellent Pokémon. I like learning more about ancient Aztec culture and artifacts, and this one taught me something I didn't know before :) If you're still looking to make more "little guys" or item-based Pokémon, the other day I looked up a wiki article about Mirrors in Mesoamerica and found a lot of mythology about mirrors, the most interesting to me was that mirrors were used for divination and were believed to be portals to another world. I'd love to see a true mirror Pokémon, and an obsidian mirror that leads to another world/reason/afterlife sounds like a good start to idealize about the mythology of Mazah

Also, an idea for the first normal/ghost type might be a Pokémon that at first looks like a normal, cute pet, like a cat or dog, but once you look closer you realize there's something slightly off about it, reaching a climax once it opens its mouth to reveal swirling black tendrils or something like that. Not exactly Mexico-related, but there's always stuff in every gen that's just what the designers thought would be cool.

I have a decent idea for a Mazah Pokémon, I think. Please just hear me out! There needs to be a Pokémon based off of a Jaguar. I’m imagining Dark/Electric typing. The first form could be named Staticub, and then have it evolve into its second form, Voltaguar via a Dusk Stone, Max Happiness at night, or another similar method. You could use the Luxray and Liepard families as reference, and put heavy emphasis on strength and stealth. Love all your art, it inspires my own creativity!

I actually recognize a couple of these from the very first Apoctober; Lady Crab-Face was extremely distinctive, and the minute Celeste said that the titan was "looking for something" I was like "oh yeah, I remember that one!" I only kinda remember, maybe, the glutton and the undead thing, and I don't remember the Faces of the Moon at all (I don't remember the crazy candle-lady either, but I think it would've been what drove her to that state that was in the first Apoctober). Nice bit of nostalgia, and makes me wonder what else is going to reappear. You know what, I _wish_ Macrabra was real - if only for the simple reason of "give me more Ghost/Bug types, dangit!" (that said, yes it's cute and I like the concept behind it; the fact that it's Ghost/Bug is the first reason, but not the only reason or the most important).

I like to imagine Macrabra's whistle to have somewhat similar origins to Rotatona and Cofagrigus, and the little creature inside is the same ghost that inhabits them both.
