OK the coolness needle just pegged with this one. This is just amazing. I love the multi angle thing going on here. And I had never heard the radio version of this launch. VERY cool. Thank you. Can't wait to see more on Apollo 12 soon. Glad to know you're still there and alive and well.

Thank you for posting this ABC Radio broadcast. The broadcasters are Mort Crim and Red Muller. It would be wonderful to hear more ABC radio coverage of this fligt.

While this was identified as a "U.S.A." broadcast, I believe this was the ABC Radio broadcast (simulcast on all of ABC Radio's four sub-networks of the time, Contemporary, Entertainment, Information, and FM) since the anchormen were Merrill Mueller and Mort Crim, who both were working for ABC News at the time. Mueller had recently joined ABC News (after many years with NBC News); Crim later became a local TV news anchor in Detroit.

Hello! Loving these broadcasts - so atmospheric, and the visual description alone in this one is amazing! I was just wondering if by any chance you could let me know where you got this clip? Don't suppose you know who the copyright holder is, by any chance? (Or if I'm lucky and it's in the public domain...?!). Many thanks if you can help! :)

Wonder what the ball of flame was that came off the stage 2 at 4:11? Anyone know?
@gasaholic477 жыл бұрын
That wasn't a ball of flame. That was the interstage unit separating ("skirt sep"). The flame was it being in the wash from the second stage j-2 engines.
