Prior to producing for some of the best names in Hip Hop, Apollo Brown was quietly making beats in his senior high school years, eventually showcasing his talents and getting his music career started.

Initially, I though it was so crazy how he never thought there was a market for his beats to the point where he literally stopped making beats for 2 YEARS. Thinking about it though, I never knew Underground Hip Hop existed until 2013.... That was only because I stumbled upon one of Oddisee's songs by accident with KZbin Autoplay switched on loool. Underground Hip Hop isn't advertised by mainstream media because it doesn't fit in with their agenda, Underground Hip Hop counteracts it very intelligently. To think a talented artist like Apollo Brown wouldn't exist if he didn't accidentally play one of his beats to the right person...wow. It's safe to say now that I've been a complete Hip Hop nerd since 2013.. I feel very late to the party but at least I'm here now.

The Underground is where the legends live. Mostly least since the 90's golden era died down, tried to put so many people on that shit. Demigodz, Army of the Pharaohs, Immortal Technique, MHz, EL-P (Company Flow way back/and solo stuff beore RTJ took flight). And damn, did it take flight. Shit, at first I wasnt down with the beats, EL usually made dark grimy shit or classic hip hop, but being how good he is, and the messages they spread he is Run the Jewels ended up being another phenomenal UG hit. Then it took off and now everyone knows their talent. Anyway, tottally agree that it isnt advertised, one because of what you said and two a lot of it makes people think. and they dont want us thinking..
